Just curious... Does anyone know if it's possible to prime and paint my stock rims while the tires are still on my truck? I don't have access to a jack and don't have a garage to work in. Any tips for masking off "inside" the wheel so that I don't get any spray on the rotors, etc.? Dying to paint em black. Any advice would be great!

^^^ nice custom paint job on your factory wheels. I'm currently running the same wheels on my 2nd gen.

I understand your point but seeing how almost every car comes from the factory with silver wheels, the black just makes it stand out more from everybody else.
A friend of mine just took a set of polished wheels for his little Focus and wanted to match the color of his paint to make his custom, the problem is that his car is silver so he spent all that time and energy to do a custom job that doesn't look custom as all. Black or anthracite would have looked much better.

i keep reading how everyone is painting or buying black rims yet in the big scheme of things i bet less than 10% of the trucks on the road have dark rims.
there is a big difference between everyone on TW has dark rims and what you see in the general public. paint em if you want dark rims man!

It kills me that of all the mods I've done to this moneypit, the $20 rattlecan on the wheels get the most looks

I thought about powder coating mine for a while but I figured out I could get cheep black rims sell the stock ones and the diffence was less than the cost of getting them powder coated.

Do it. A Saturday of sanding and $50 in paint is well worth it.

Plasti probably won't hold on running board. Try painting with a good primer and lots of layers of paint.
