Been ripped off by a Member???

Well guys back in october i bought a pillar pod with guages from a member (shocar4) for $120 through paypal. When i recieved it it had a big crack in the pod. He said he purchased usps insurance and ot send it back and he would refund my money. So i sent it back he got it told me he was working the claim. Now 4 months later he is saying hes waiting for the post office ot get back to me and he doesnt owe me the money the post office does. So now i have a dilemna if i was in the mainland id go to his house but im in hawaii. Feel pretty much screwed.

Limit you can file a paypal dispute..i think its 30 days.

 

yah i would of done that but for him to do the claim took me over the 30 days. sorry if i posted in the wrong section wasnt sure where to post this. its a 2nd gen part ;P

 

Don't believe anyone. I had a guy on ebay keep telling me he filed a claim, i let it go for a week and filed paypal dispute. Fuck them, they should reimburse you personally, then wait for post office to reimburse the seller.

 

Unfortunately, I would kiss the money goodbye. I think there should be a post count minimum to sell. The member you bought the gauge pod from had 25 posts and most of them if not all were from stuff he was selling.

 

You can see when the sellers last log on was and hope it has been recent. You may get lucky and he will have an email or facebook listed.

 

Thats for another thread.. But yeah I'd say GL getting the money back but you may have to mark it up as a loss

 

i know usually im more skeptical but ive never had a problem with members before so i kinda let my guard down. I emailed this bastard many times and the last time i said so what are you going to rip me off. Then he sends me an email mad at me telling me its not his fault its the post office and he has 3 kids blah blah then that his responsibility isnt to pay me he doenst owe me the money the post office does. yah basically a prick any body know this guy wanna off him? lol

 

At best at least i can try to spread the word dont trust this guy.

If there is something wrong with anything you should always file the claim yourself! Never send the money as a gift always as goods even though you have to pay a little PayPal fee it's worth it in the long run!

If it was damaged in shipping, you would have to refuse the package because of visible damage or take it to them within like 3 days. If there was no visible damage to the package it's his fault. Either way, he's not getting money from them any time soon, and you're not getting money from him any time soon either.

 

No it wasnt a paypal gift but I should of.took it to the post office myself I guess and repirted the damage. He told me to send it back to him so he could take care of the claim with the post office. Who knows maybe the guy recycles this thing and does it over and over. Yah pretty much lesson learned dont trust anyone ha ha ha

 

Looks like he hasn't signed on since September. Bummer, but looks like the money isn't coming back.

I have bought & sold from many here with good results.
People make mistakes get desperate do not know how to handle things
I hope you get your money back do you have the usps insurance info??
At least you may check to see if it was paid out??

 

Yeah thats weak, But Lesson learned here.
It happens way to often, But I definitely think there should be a post limit on new members selling items, I hate 1-20 post members posting something for sale when we dont even truly know them or trust them.

I read thread about this a while back but all the mods disagreed with the post count thing. Oh well.
