I run premium on all my cars.

I'm not really into off roading and won't do any extreme off roading. As for the water. I can always avoid it and hike if necessary.

Drive, enjoy. If you find yourself stuck often, consider upgrades. You have a very capable truck already.

The water crossing thing scares me. A few inches of lift isn't going to make much difference. I wouldn't make a habit of driving through water where a few inches of extra water depth would drown the truck.

I didn't bother to read through most of the posts so forgive me if I repeat but IMHO like most said I don't see anything that requires a lift. However I have a toytec ultimate lift on my truck and I had one on my '96 as well. Can't say a bad word about it- very solid product. But with that lift, tires, rims and uca's (wouldn't recommend lifting without them- I have camburgs) ur looking at closer to $5000. than 3000. Which is more important to have FIRST- supercharger or lift? Ur call bro. Good luck with ur decision.

265/75/16 look awesome with stock suspension. The tires will add height. If you still want a lift after the tires, go for it.

I agree. I've seen it. But finding a FJ anthracite at a reasonable price is kinda hard.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
All depends on what kind of terrain it will be used on. Stock rigs are more capable than lots of people think. Thing you gotta remember about lifts and big tires is all the extra stress from the added weight is going to be on your chassis and drivetrain components now. Opens more windows for stuff to break, but if you know how to do it right or have someone do the hard work that is qualified, you shouldn't have any troubles.

To the original OP, YES a think a lift would be beneficial. If this is what the truck will be seeing daily I would like the piece of mind of some bigger tires and some ground clearance. A good driver can get thru alot of stuff but you wont see every rock and every rut. you'll be glad you had it.

Wish I still had Jenny (my toyota pickup). Sadly I had to let her go for the new taco.

I'm with the rest of the crowd dude...a lift for the trails you posted ain't necessary. Hell...I take my nearly stock 5-lug on worse terrain than that! Also, like everyone else suggested, look in to a good set of rubber. It makes all the difference in the world! I'd always heard good things about BFGs, but up here in Canada it was cheaper for me to get General Grabber AT2s...and damn do I love 'em!

Now, please answer one thing for me (and I honestly mean no disrespect here dude), but what the hell do you want a SC for in Maui?!?! It's been years since I've been there, but if it's anything like the big island I'd honestly find it frustrating as all hell not to be able to really open her up on a nice stretch of road! Just curious is all. :)

As for water crossings, just ask yourself...what would Batman do? The answer: grappling hook and zip-line across. :)

SC is more for my benefit. I have an itch and sometimes it needs to be scratched.
