    2000 lbs.

Many haul up to 3500 in their F150.

I guess my point was why is the Ford good up to its rating and not the Toyota? I am happy with my Taco and would not trade it, but it is disappointing that Toyota has a known problem and does not address the issue.

I was not aware of this problem, but again, I realize this a light duty truck.

I tell you what. If Toyota eng is reading Tacomaworld he must be having headache.
When Toyota was installing HD suspension people where whining and complaining its too harsh and they want car like feel. Smooth ride when empty.
Now with smooth suspension people whine they can not load enough with out adding extra leaf or two.
OP wants electronics but will whine when his Entune does not sync with iPhone 758s
Never mind it will still be capable towing a trailer but not syncing will be all over the board as end of World like disaster.

People want more power engine so they can rev up and drive fast, but when you install that then they whine about timing belt changes and maintenance on lightweight components.

    Geez
People need to decide if they want truck or a car.

I'd like to see the VW Amorok introduced to the American market. I'd like to drive it! I'm a big fan of VW and think they are solid vehicles. I like the diesel engine option as well.

I'd like to see Toyota make some engine changes before design features. Engines are good but a few more options would be nice.

It is more comfortable than previous trucks. That's also why it doesn't have the level of beef Toyotas used to. BlueT nailed it:

    Repped.

Want a truck, and got one BlueT ! Don't be so sensitive by suggestions or ideas. It's just a conversation about the differences in trucks which was very surprising. Toyota just seems to extend the development time line which is probably intended to maximized profit. I'd never bash them for that or their product. Like them before and still do!

There's so many great ideas in this forum I'll still hang around to get some ideas. Trucks r trucks!

Hey I really like my Taco. But it is a truck. I only want to to perform to the ratings that Toyota provides. I havn't read where Ford, Chevy, or Dodge have a problem with suspension.

I am not sensitive, I just find funny that so many want car like futures and at the same time want to have a offroad truck with capabilities of full size. It shows that people dont understand mechanics at all.

You can not have car full of electronics and be able to travel through deep water. Old Toyotas had almost nothing and when you had sunk them all you had to do was dry your socks off because they did not have 1 million electronic connectors. Believe I had to dry my socks.
Because people wanted smoth drive, now a Tacoma is getting crappy suspension. It should have 1 ton suspension, and screw the folks who want smoth ride. Let them drive Prius.
Flat screens in Truck. Give me a brake.
When your hands are dirty you dont want flat screens and nice finished buttons. You want rugged rubber you can wash with some water and soup after weeks work.
Engines, who needs HP ? What Is needed is Torque at slow RPMS so truck can crawl up and down.
Stability, traction control ? How about F/R lockers with R&P that does not brake every time somebody farts.
How about solid axle option so we can have big plow on the front and run 35x13.5" tires with out trimming anything.

Now, I am aware times are changing. I also find it funny how progress can be easily slapped by 3 feet of snow and make people cry they are running out of food.:D
It was fun watch all those car like SUV stuck while you passing them by in the middle of the storm. It was also fun passing by stuck snow plow :D All that with my old fashion solid axle very old LC.

Next thing we know, Toyota will be making Tacoma, Justin Bieber edition.

Ah we're the CUSTOMERS, understanding engineering is NOT in our job descriptions. Hence the reason we pay $$$ to Toyota to build the vehicle for us. In regards to suggestions:

Power seats would be nice because of the very limited range of adjustments for Taco buckets, really hard to find the "just right" fit for some. Heated mirrors and a remote starter are COLD weather options, since many of us use our trucks in the winter. Updated powertrain is a "well duh" item for a truck that hasn't seen a redesign since 2004. Radiant Red, well how hard is it to bring back an awesome color that is still used on other Toyota products.

Honestly I don't know what is so unreasonable about any of these items. Nor do I understand why you are taking honest Consumer feedback so personally.

Now if Toyota engineers are paying attention, really someone from the company should be, then I hope they're taking notes. They are getting free feedback from those that not only bought this truck but also take the time to share their opinions of it. For any company that's trying to make $$$ this information is quite valuable. Truthfully any company that ignores what their customers want is not likely to stay in business long. Toyota doesn't really seem like one of those companies to me, quite the contrary.

Hear you loud and clear! Roger that on all counts. It's why I park the truck and get on the bike. Driving a truck like you intend is a very small segment of the market. Love the fact I see as many yota's in the back country as I do Jeeps. My off road capability is as much to get away from the campground as it is to troll fire roads in the Sierra's. I'd love to ride along with some experienced off road 4X4 clubs to learn how it's done. Can manage 2 wheels but definitely not 4 when tackling more challenging trails. For that matter, I've watched guys drive the Rubicon while I'm on a mountain bike. IMHO that was flipping intense!

You should be in Toyota's R&D deptartment BlueT. You know the only real 4X4's will soon all be hand built. BTW - did you see that HiLux finished 2nd & 10th in this years Dakar? That's something they can boast about.

Keep doing what you enjoy - I applaud you and anyone who takes the road less traveled....

The bean counters are running the show geost1. Plain and simple. Tacoma will come in guns blazing in two years (if they can wait that long) to appease the masses. It's what they all do. I'm a lot softer now than 25 years ago. Not that I wouldn't have liked the stuff you talk about. Just couldn't afford them. BlueT is me 25 years ago. He's going to build, modify and use the vehicle like maybe 2 / 5% at best. Funny thing is - balance of the 95+ percent all want to believe they're in the same boat. Ha-ha, that's where it gets interesting. Been there, done that. Lots of folks in this forum will recognize that one!

Use your truck, enjoy it and make tons of memories. Those last forever!

I wouldn't buy a brand new Tacoma because its hardly different than my 06, aside from the minor re-styling all I see is just some new bells and whistles that I don't buy into or want in a pickup.

Really, I'm ready to buy a new truck now and im really holding out for Nissan or Toyota to bring something new out. I was really excited to see VW's Amarok, but its not sold being here yet.

Might find a low mileage Frontier for now just for something different, I prefer the VQ40DE over the 1GRFE, much more refined, I also like the suspension and the steel bed on the Frontier and really should have considered one in the first place.

The interior in the Frontier sucks compared to the Taco. Not to mention they have yo discount them $5k to sell them. Good luck. They do have a little more power and a little less fuel economy. Good luck. Resale is less also.

Sorry but if you want interior comfort in a truck and are willing to pay, why should you have to buy a car...

You dont have to, you can buy Ford Raptor for example. Plenty of comforts.
The point is, why buy truck and whine about not driving like car. Or why buy truck that has smooth ride and then whine it does not have payload or towing capacity of dump truck.
