You will definitely need to replace them because you won't have enough down travel with them. Do not EVER put extensions on your struts. You do not want to have a week spent on your struts when wheeling....ask around...many people have broken struts while wheeling that have a solid bar, much less a screw on extension. He'll your struts may be the reason you have a shitty ride now. To find out how much down travel you have, while the truck is sittin in the driveway, disconnect the bottom of the rear strut. Pull it out of the purch and see how far it extends to. The distance past the purch is the amount of down travel you have. This should be done without being jacked up and just sitting on the tires at ride hieght. Be careful on who to take advise from on here. Lots of people give it, but don't have either the knowledge to experience to back it up. With that said, if you are not sure what you are talking about, by experience or research, it is recommended you not give advise on subject you are not certain about. ie, I would never give advise about a crawler...

Ah, I was thinking if it was a a time zone over, a nice road trip would have ensued. Could have done a group buy on them to help with shipping costs.

Hey, thats an idea. Why dont we see if we can get a bulk rate if we buy a few sets.

    I'm in for 1 set,
another person wants one for sure in the thread..

thats 2 maybe I'll call in the AM and see what they can do.

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
The advice about the extension was as a temporary measure till he was able to set ride height and was able to determine eye to eye length. Would it be better if he ordered the springs, installed them then realized his shocks were so short that he was stuck with a high probability of a blown shock or zero down travel? Right now he is stacking lifts in the rear...to figure out what length shock he needs would require some time and guess work that might result in getting the wrong length.

Also as an FYI the first danohoes for the rears had stem extensions...the extended length 5100 for Gen 2s are usually Tundra shocks...we see mall crawlers all day with shit that is dangerous and damaging. But for him to toss them in until he can line up the right 5150/5125 right after a new spring is not BAD advice. Especially since this isn't his daily. Hell for what it's worth he could put the springs in drive 1/2 mile back to his house and park it for two or three weeks with no shocks?

This....the best way to determine shock length would be to install the leafs, then articulate the axle, measure the length of full flex vs full collapse (bump stop hitting strike plate).

I ordered mine with Joejoe and had them put on a pallet and shipped freight. We both saved roughly $45 on shipping....

Well its a land Cruiser with a diesel so I've got that going for me.
This was my point in the original post! Get springs. Install. See if what you got fills the bill. If not toss an extension in until your new shocks arrive.

Not trying to start a poop fling fest here.

If I back burner the winch I could go for a set. They may reconsider discounts with an order of four sets.....

That's a clean install. Are they wig wags?

There were 69 patterns to choose from. I opted for one that combined a few of them. Wheelen Linz6: http://www.strobesnmore.com/Whelen-LINZ6-Super-LED-Lighthead.html
Strobes n More has the best prices I've seen, and fast shipping.

As far as the leafs go. Why dont we see how many potential virginians want them. And do the same like any other group buy would as far as names go. Then once theres a realistic number, I'll call and see if we can 1. get a deal, and 2. get a combined shipping fee (like freight).
