Front End Clicking sound.

Ya man. Keep me updated. If I were you, I'd go buy aftermarket. The taco bearings are really bad. They are around 120-160the for two.

Yeah right now my truck has a grand total of 30,000.... Mostly highway

 

He also said that there was a metallic noise, that occurred every time the wheel rotated. That would be rotor run-out.

I just fixed a clicking sound in my 2010 sport it was the brake pads

Hey hiatt, in the process of dismantling the entire front end of my truck this weekend, I took off the left wheel and that metal clip on the calipers was bent out so far it was rubbing on the inside of the rim, so that's what made the click. How are the new bearings?

 

What was the final outcome of this? I am hearing a very similar sound with my 05. Very prominent when turning left slowly, but can hear it whenever I am goin slow and over speed bums.

From what Ive read elsewhere, I dont think thats it(I could be wrong). I havent been able to find video or audio on bad bearings that sound like this. I've read that it could be a loose connection where the chassis connects to the cab mount. There is an alluminum piece at that connection that can come loose. I may be talking out of my ass, but thats what Ive read.

 

I know Burbank auto charges 100-150 per side to change the bearing including parts.

 

Well its not a bearing. Toyota does not know what it is. They want to charge me $180 just to hook it up to a computer thing to "maybe" diagnose the noise.

 

Sorry to pull this out of the grave, but for those stumbling across this page: CHECK YOUR MOTOR MOUNT FRAME WELDS!! Had this problem twice, once on a 4runner and yesterday on my 05 Tacoma.. Only reason it makes the noise when you're not on the throttle is because the motor is not torqued sideways out of the frame.. I would recommend pre gusseting the mounts just in case. Search it on the forum for more info..
