    Again, fellas....

Let's keep the discussion to REPORTS. Personal beliefs and opinions and therefore QUESTIONING of other's opinions quickly leads to a locked thread.

We've gone thus far in a (mostly) civilized manner. Everybody take a step back from the keyboard and breathe.

When they were having trouble finding him and his truck was burned etc.. I had a thought:
Since he was suicidal and throwing the police a loop...
What if he had committed those murders, fled to a preplanned location where he had a 20ft hole and an accomplice to bury him... he committed suicide in the hole or crawled deep into an abandon mineshaft, or sunk himself with weighted suit into the ocean... so the PD would never find him...ever...because he would be dead and hidden....that would be a mindf***...! turns out thats not the case, but that scenario crossed my mind as he wanted to inflict terror on the PD....and if they never actually found him....Im sure they would be on edge for a lonnnng time.

Doesn't say anything new, really. Just that after using normal tear gas didnt work they used incendiary based tear gas which has the possibility of starting a fire. They didn't exactly say we started the cabin on fire to burn him to death. I mean don't get me wrong I think they were anticipating it would go up. Let him make the choice come out or stay inside the burning structure. I thought he would come out shooting rather than offing himself or burning but its the same end result.

I agree with you for the most part.

If a civilian came out with a threat and a statement stating that he was going to bring unconventional warfare against......Wendy's for example, the cops would be all over that!!

Yes there are rapists, and killers, and all sorts of other fucked up people doing fucked up shit all day long, but they don't issue a verbalized threat publicly to a known entity.

"I am an American by choice, I am a son, I am a brother, I am a military service member, I am a man who has lost complete faith in the system, when the system betrayed, slandered, and libeled me."

Just saying im sure many police officers and military men probably feel the same.

Outside agencies and individual officers on patrol. If you recognize my vehicle, and confirm it is my vehicle thru a dmv/want warrant check. It behoves you to respond to dispatch that your query was for information purposes only. If you proceed with a traffic stop or attempt to notify other officers of my location or for backup you will not live to see the medal of valor you were hoping to receive for your actions. Think before you attempt to intervene. You will not survive.

The system has not slandered me.

And if the system did slander me, I would not be so arrogant as to publicly publish the above statement.

Personally IMO he should have taken his "Story" to a good reporter instead of this rampage.

I agree he should have blown the whistle some other way then killing people on a murderous rampage, but he didn't. He chose his fate and path and took out innocent people along the way, and for that, I have no sympathy or empathy for him.

I may be, but I have spent enough time in and around the system to know its faults and issues and to get burnt by it.

He can spank all the ass he wants, as long as he's not killing people any more and as long as he knows that if he comes back to the US he's gonna get hunted down and pay for his actions.

J88logue stated that he felt bad for him... That's who that was directed at.

I agree that we have far too few resources to combat all kinds of crime. Police are spread thin. Police aren't taking "their" time to respond to a call, but unfortunately, calls have to be placed on a priority scale just to get to them.

It would be nice if there could be a similar reaction by the police, every time someone needed to be caught, but if they were to dump that many resources (millions of dollars) into every manhunt, it would be too expensive.

The reason they go after people who kill cops so intensely, especially those who announce to the world that their only goal is to kill and terrorize police and their families, is to make it abundantly clear, that killing cops is not tolerated, period.

I know some people here have their own personal reservations and experiences with LEO; bad cops exist... Ask a good one, they'll tell you about it. The fact is, when it come down to it, most cops are good people, who have families, good people who have made it their career to go and risk themselves for others. To willingly put themselves in volatile or possibly volatile situations with the goal of protecting a stranger. That might be cliche, but when it comes down to it, it's true.

Cops are the people that protect people... If you declare war on them, then civilians have even less protection from crime. You do not kill a cop and get away with it.

I'm not saying it's not shitty; I'm not saying one person's life is less important than anothers. The resources poured into going after a cop killer are a warning to those who wish to do harm to the "people-who-protect people".
