So I've had my new truck for almost 2 months now...and I swear it's like rocks are out to get me! :frusty: I hear a rock hit the windshield or some other part of the truck as I'm driving on the freeway every day. There's 4 or 5 small nicks on the windshield already and a few small ones on the bumper/grill area. I don't follow semis or other construction-type vehicles closely - only reason why I'm asking this question is because I never noticed it before in my Honda CR-V nearly as bad as in the truck. Maybe it's just because I care about my brand new truck a lot more. Anyone else annoyed by this?

Happens to me a lot here in New England. I drive far away from trucks. It's going to happen. The reason you notice it like I do, is because toyota paint chips so easily! It really makes me angry, but detail detail detail touch up paint and clear coat :)

I get a few every now and then. Drove past 2 salt trucks with JAndrews headed to Shoe Creek and I thought those bricks we're coming through the windshield, sounded like they were huge chunks.

Nothing excessive, but around here I am the biggest truck except for the occasional Soot Factory and immigrant lawn care service.

Welcome to Phoenix! For whatever reason the flying rocks out here are really bad!

Since I moved out here 8 years ago, I've had 2 windshields replaced on my previous truck, and like 3 chips repaired on the taco. Back living in socal I think I went through like 1 windshield in 10 years. :)

2013 with 3,000 miles and 2 rock cracks on my windshield! Had a Jeep LJ for 7 years with only 1 crack and a Honda Accord for nearly 10 with 1 crack- WTH?

It's even more annoying than trying to figure out what to get for my gf for Valentine's Day last minute! Hahahaha :goingcrazy: I should have been on top of it, but I'm just so good at procrastinating!

Seriously! I mean I had my CR-V's windshield replaced from 2 cracks but that was after 6 years. I've got 2,400 miles and no crack yet but at least 4 nicks or divets in the windshield that make me grumble every time I see them lol.

Tacoma's aren't rock magnets, don't worry. Not like FJ Cruisers and Jeeps.

Same thing here in western Colorado. Lots of rocks on the roadway & no way to avoid them. They seem to fly up out of nowhere. All of our vehicles get rock chips in the paint and the winshield. I've learned to just ignore them & accept the rocks as part of getting to live out here. Nothing you can do about them anyway, except not drive.

I'll be able to accept them eventually. It's just the first few that really hurt!

I think brand new trucks are just rock magnets. I can hear them laughing as I hear it smack my windshield or truck. They're like "you have this nice new truck? I'm gonna scratch it up!"

I drive in the slow lane now and leave a good cushion behind cars to avoid them while staying away from big rigs, I know its only a matter of time since I'm always on the freeway.

Had less than 500 miles on mine when a dirt clod off a truck hit the windshield and put three little nicks in it. That's life for ya!

Almost 50k miles that I've put on mine so far, 97k total, and not a single rock chip. I don't believe the previous owner ever had the windshield replaced either.
