i... agree... i fucking hate it when they say apply through our website when they say "we are hiring" ... well if you are hiring then let us know if you are interested or not. at least tell us and not leave us hanging.

 

I'm sorry to hear fellas. I work for a moving company, the summer is definitely here. The days are long and hours are there. It's not the greatest job, but it is something. Good luck with the job hunting.

 

Most companies are on a hiring freeze right now, they may still be taking applications but are not doing any actual hiring.

 

That sucks man but hang in there. My brother just told me a very similar story. He lives in AZ. There's a bunch of people that he's talked to that need his skills but nobody will commit. It's almost like companies are being extremely picky, cautious or just plain scared.

 

I feel your pain......I'm going on close to a year now. Apparently, I'm not even qualified enough to pull weeds and cut grass for the summer at the nearby University.

 

I just applied to a moving company today



But I hear ya 28003. I went to the place I worked during last summer and had to reinterview or some shit. The companys website said they were hiring, after finishing my interview for the summer, the lady (who I was interviewed by last summer) said that there was a waiting list.


WHY THE FUCK DO YOU SAY THAT THERE ARE OPEN POSITIONS, THEN WHEN IM DONE WITH YOUR FUCKING INTERVIEW SAY THAT I'LL BE PUT ON A WAITING LIST?!

Oh, and my interview was at 10:30. I go there 10 minutes early. I get in my truck and the clock says 10:29.

It took me longer to drive to the place than it did from the time i entered to the time i left the building.

 

my girl found a job with a lawyers office through craigslist. im barley 2 months in at socal edison. applied online like a year and a half ago. good luck fellas

 

Man I hate to hear this happening to people. A person is either over or under qualified.
I feel your pain in looking for a job, got so sick and tired of doing it I went back to school and opened my own business.
But then with all the BS state and local laws it make it hard to do just about anything.

 

i applied to about 10 places for a summer job and none of them have even contacted me in any way

 

i feel your pain. my girl was let go from her old job cuz they hired a family member that works for free (only makes tips) and she couldnt get a job anywhere else so I got her a job at the call center I work at. Now we're living check to check, trying to catch up on bills and plan a wedding at the same time. I make a decent check as I.T. tech supervisor but she's only making $7/hr as a debt collector.

 

I work at a NASA base... and I've learned that hiring with NASA as well as within the DoD is not about what you know -- it's about who you know... next to impossible to get in the door without having a contact.

I don't even know how to write a resume

 

yeah, I'm 20 and doing random summer jobs. Nothing really that I could even put on a resume haha.

 

I feel the pain in another way... Yesterday I had to cut loose two of my most coveted employees. I know I'm not suppose to have favs but, they always volunteered for what ever I may bring their way without hesitation or question! Unfortunately corporate policy says that we don't lay off, we are required to offer separation packages... so no re-hires when the economy bounces back, I will have to start over to find two great employees to train, mentor & covet. Just saying that it sucks to be on both sides!! Good luck to all!
