    We always used 2% thoriated tungsten with 1/16" ER70s rod and run the machine DCEN on mild steel. In reality MIG welding would be fine. TIG is nice and all but as your buddy knows your surface needs to be spotless. ;)

    ha ya, ill be the one doing the cleaning... the reason for tig is that the tig machine is already setup... my mig is still in the box and i dont have a bottle for it ha.
