Could even go as far as making the bottom plate squared off on all sides to fully protect the nuts.

A trip to the local hardware store will have one of those as a set and there are always heavy duty versions for sale with a longer mounting plate. Then the Locking plate above would prevent someone from unscrewing the nuts.

Having that lower slotted plate half a piece of square bar cut long ways would solve any bending issues. Then slot the middle to accomodate the shackle.

I was leaning toward AutoHome's Maggiolina (pricey) roof top tents since they are more aerodynamic, but if Bobby/CVT approves the 30% GB discount I may throw my name in. I like the Mt. Shasta and the Mt. Bachelor.

I plan on mounting my tent on All Pros's expedition pack rack. More pictures of tents mounted 1st Gen Tacomas would be greatly appreciated.

Cvt makes slim tents too so you could get one of those with the discount.

The sure thing is to buy it today and capture the $50 shipping "Valentines Day" offer that ends today. nearly the same deal on the lower cost tent. I got a Mt. Shasta a few days ago before I knew about this attempt to get a GB going.

If you like the RTT concept, these are among the best!

We are still waiting to here from Lisa and what she has found out from Bobby. Hopefully he will let the GB happen. We have a ton of interest.

I'm in if we can get 30% off. Can you also find out details about the 2 ladder options? What size ladder do those of us putting this on top of a bed rack need to get? Would they be willing to discount shipping for combined orders (delivered to same location)?

Also, those looking for a bed rack option check out this thread: Pelfreybilt Fabrication

Tyler is a great guy and his stuff is top notch! If there is enough interest, i'm sure we could do a separate GB for the bed racks as well.

    Put me down for:

    Biborado (T)
    Mt. Shasta
    Assuming long ladder?
    San Diego shipping

Long ladders are only needed for full sized vehicles usually.

i have like 4-5'' lift and my bed rack and did not need the longer ladder. Bobby asked if i was over 6'' lift for the longer ladder so i think you'll be fine.

we are still waiting on Bobby to get a confirmation if this is going to happen.

What about those putting the tent on the roof? I would assume we need this longer ladder you speak of.
