I guess having a regular cab makes a little more sense now saying it has more balls probably much lighter. I was surprised myself with the "balls" of the 4.0 a little lazy when you first get into the throttle but I still think they get up and go for what they are. I was coming from a car that ran a mid 5 sec 0-60 the Taco isn't as slow as I was expecting. Not fast either but still haha.

My 2006 had the 4 banger. Was fine by me, cept the head went at 75k and ate the cam and chain. Cost me almost $2000 after I finally got them to honor their own ext warranty on the head which was supposed to be refunded to me, GM and the dealer keep playing grab-ass and each one says the other needs to take care of it. Traded the bitch for my Tacoma and never looked back.

Not interested in owning a car. I just think that's sick, but wouldn't spend that money on it. Maybe if I had it to blow... But there is other shit you could do more important...

x2. I don't see the point of a fast truck. Just buy a fast car so it'll actually handle well and not just be a straight line rocket.

The point isn't to go fast and race. It's to make more than 240hp and 260 ft lbs of torque so you don't deplete your power when you put 33's on the truck...

But I'm sorry, it's a bad idea and we should be completely content and fine with our mediocre v6's and want for nothing since we already have it all.

Well since ypu guys are speaking my laguage and I'm at work I figured I'd chime in. I will be talking just about the F-150. Ford a basic fleet truck delivering parts or just want a cheap truck for a contruction company the XL with the 3.7L is ideal not great for towing much unless its 4 wheel drive but only 302hp basic no frills truck no issues with the drivetrain as all F150's have the 6 Speed SelectShift so in a V6 no issues. The 3.5L Ecoboost the quirks have been worked out mostly still some little TSB's out but nothing crazy. With 420ftlbs it can sure tow some nice load but it's still a V6 and gets piss poor mpg towing but it is better than the 5.0 in one part it's faster. The Coyote (5.0) is an insane engine 32 fuel maps 32 air maps tuning these engines is a sin, have to have patients. It has good grunt down low and can haul a trailer just as well as the Eco but doesn't suffer the MPG drop like the smaller engines. Also I should add the ECTPCM on the 5.0 had early issues since then there was a TSB release for a update for the cost of $99.00. The 6.2 what more could you ask for 411hp and 430ftlbs on thing about these two ford modular V8's is that bolt on's for power is just about endless ad both are capable of making well over 700hp if you wallet can handle it. As for towing I'd take the 6.2. Super duty trucks you are limited to just two engines the 6.2 like said above it's the same engine, and the MIGHTY 6.7 Power Stroke with a 6 speed Torqshift with 400hp and 800ftlbs @ 1600 rpm now if you want to tow anything this is the engine for you. Ford states 24k lbs but they can tow a crap ton more. If you want the most reliable ford diesel 7.3 Powerstroke amazing for towing not many issues hell the ijectors could pass sand through them and keep going, we have a regualr with 670,000 on the ODO its and OBS truck but still. The 6.0 is a AMAZING engine despite all the chatter about it breaking. They do infact go boom but if you do 3 simple things this truck is just as good as the 7.3 now that would be...Headgaskets, ARP studs and an EGR delete. The 6.4 I wont talk about it was a failure from Oil coolers, egr coolers all over heating Ford dumped that POS and now has the 6.7 which is Silent and very clean.
