Hey I've recently bought a 2013 tacoma dbl cab 4 cyl and I'm loving everything about it except the car tires they put on it. So I was wondering if y'all knew the best tire and rim size combo for it or what you put on your truck without stressing the engine too much.

I'm trying to find something bigger than the car tires and I will eventually put on a 3in level lift on it along with the new tires.

I put SCS F5 16" wheels and 265/17 duratracs C load and that setup has the same weight as the stock setup. I do notice a little power loss going over the passes but that's 8000' and its a 4 cylinder. I'm still getting 19-21 mpgs. They will fit with stock suspension but still look good with 2"-2.5" of lift. IMO

If you run alot of highway I would suggest 235/85R16. I have Cooper AT3s in this size and in town, winter, and a quarter tank of offroading I get 20mpg. Check my pics for what they look like.

Those big tires don't hurt you going up hills on the road or hurt you gas mileage that much?

Hwy -1 to -2 MPGs if it's hilly and +1 to +2 MPGs if it's flat.
And yes I have to drop it in 3rd for some hills, but boy are they fun off road.

Weight was one of several reasons I went with the skinny 33s.
You might want to regear with that size on a 4Banger.

    I have the 6 lug

If I get the skinny 235/85/16 tires would they fit on a 16x8 wheel?

    :notsure:
IMO 8" would be/look too wide for 235/85/16s.
7" work/look good with the 255/85/16s and would be the max I'd put 235/85/16s on.
