Check out the Tacoma Spring refurbishing thread. I think that's the route i'm going to go for lifting the rear. Seems to working for a bunch or guys, and it only costs a fraction of the cost of a new leaf pack, probably about equal to longer shackles and better riding.

Thanks! Even with all the horror stories and parents talking about the things their kids have done, broken, etc, every parent still says it's completely worth it in the end.

I have also have an MTD that I purchased new in '94 and followed the directions to drain fuel & run the carb dry for summer storage. The next season it wouldn't start and I needed to have the carb cleaned. Since then I ignored these directions and have used sta-bal + premium gas + topped off the fuel tank for off season storage. Never had another problem with the carb. The electric starter died during the second season but it starts up on the first pull of the starter cord every time. Best cheapo snow blower on the market!

I think it will be neat. I like other peoples kids. Maybe i'm just selfish at the moment and like being able to buy stuff, shoot stuff, go fishing/camping etc without much thought.

Same thing, I've got an old MTD hand-me-down that's at least 12 years old (uncertain on actual age). I don't use Sta-bil, never liked the stuff. I keep the tank topped off and use Startron to keep her running. I start it and run it probably once a month in the summer to get some fuel going through it but that's about it.

Anyone else doing the Boston Tough Mudder this year? They just moved the date from mid May to June 1st/2nd. Apprently they couldn't find a decent venue close enough to Boston, got moved to Gunstock Mtn in NH.:dancingbacon:

Thanks! I know, sleep will be at a premium once the kid gets here.

Kids are great when you can give them back to their parents! I have a lot of young cousins that I always keep entertained at family events and really don't mind doing it at all. The best part is, if one gets a dirty diaper, starts crying, etc, I just give them back to mom and dad :D Now, those little cousins are all growing up so they'll be the ones handing my crying kid back to me

I was going to but the timing isn't going to work out for me. I ran it last year at Mt. Snow, VT and it was tough. I haven't definitely said no but I'm not sure I'll make it. I put together a team last year and there were 16 of us who ran and 3 people who came to watch. :D

Reminds me of my saying, if I have kids I have to grow up..HELL NO! haha..being an uncle is a good deal though, my sister's oldest is almost 10 and looks up to me in the biggest way. What's funny is he's just like me..loves cars, trucks, Star Wars, sports. When I bought my first truck and went to my parents' house he was eating his lunch on the deck..grabbed his plate and ran down the stairs to sit on the tailgate..

We've got 6 signed up right now. Gotta get off my fat ass/ stop working so much and consistently run &lift.

We did the spartan race at Fenway last Nov and i was gassing pretty good at the end. This years plan is tough mudder, spartan sprint, and spartan beast:eek:

Whoa... You'd best start training now. The Spart Beast is not to be taken lightly, it is a very tough event. The one at Fenway is nothing like the Beast in the mountains, or the Mudder on a mountain. Start doing hill sprints like it's your job and pull ups will help you tremendously also. Those stress balls or hand springs to get your hands stronger will help you when it comes to the walls or rope climbs.

What's especially fun is for you it's a new relationship. Speaking of, time to update your sidebar there with the new toy.

I'm pretty sure they had an episode of Taboo very similar to that with a guy who "loved" his VW beetle :boink:

I'm getting there. Going to be an uphill battle for sure. Been going to the gym 3-4 days a week at 530 and doing 45 minutes of stairmaster. Not a fan of the treadmill. Stairclimber is good cardio and killer on your legs. Then lifting 3 nights a week when I don't get home super late. My work schedule should calm down a little after getting some deliverable s out next week, and after that it's just limited travel.

There was a show on strange addictions with a guy and his Monte Carlo..although he was licking the bumper of it all the time and whatnot.
