Be sure to disable the alarm so no one will hear your truck's cries for help....

So I don't have this horror show again..what is the best way to store the snowblower?

What I've done on my lawnmower for end of season is just running it dry of fuel. Never had an issue.

You will get several answers about this and most of it will be from previous experience or what worked for them. Some drain everything, some use Sta-bil, I keep everything topped off with fuel and that Startron stuff and run it every couple months in the summer. I would ask the shop that serviced it what they would recommend.

Press the button on the carb after running stabil through the engine for a few minutes. That way you can prevent gumming

The shop recommended run it dry and drain the carb with the button.

Alex, do you mean treated fuel or just straight Stabil/Startron?

Treated fuel. It won't run on straight Stabil/Startron

Even if you run it dry, I would add some stabil to the gas first. The gas in the tank can go bad, and you will always have some residual gas in the carb & jts that will gun up

What button are you guys talking about pressing on the carb?? Do you mean the drain screw at the bottom of the bowl?

I'm not a fan of running it dry, if everything is full with fuel, nothing else can be in there. No rust, no water, etc. An empty tank/carb bowl can develop condensation, rust, pit, etc. I like to keep things topped off when they're not in use.

That's what I'm saying..I just bought 2.5 gallons of 93 octane and added the Startron to it as well.

On the bottom of my carb there is a desperate spring loaded button with an internal rubber seal. Just press it and you drain everything out of the bowl.

On the newer ones they have a button that when pressed will let the fuel in the bowl drip out the bottom. They told me it is due to the ethanol and such that the manufacturers have had to start doing this..mine didn't have one but they installed one.

I see the arguments on both sides, like you said if it's full then in theory that's the way to go. On the other hand, what you filled it with could go bad. I've never had issues with the run dry method..

Ooh... I've only had to mess with the 4 carbs on the bike and they all have drain screws, no buttons. I'm pretty sure my mower has a screw also but I could be mistaken, never had to mess with the snow blower's carb yet.

Definitely treated fuel. It won't run on stabil alone

It almost looks like a screw at first glance, has a spring on it as well..real fun to hold it in and get fuel all over your hand too!

Unless I have a reason to, I'm not touching mine. It's so old now that, with my luck, I'd press it and it wouldn't reseal (assuming it even has a button to begin with).
