Hey guys I just ordered an arb 50qt fridge. Most places have it for $799 but trdparts4u.com had it for an extra 10% off if you use the coupon code "arb10".

Damn good deal for anyone that's been thinking of upgrading from a cooler full of ice

I was actually thinking of running one of those 12volt coolers this year. Anyone know if they're any good? I know it's not exactly a fridge, but I was wondering if it'd be better than keeping ice on hand.

These guys were at the International Sportsmen Expo at the Denver Convention Center this year. These boxes were nice. 5 to 7 days of ice guaranteed.

i ran just one of these for my week long trip in August. Was GREAT! so awesome being ice free.

or something similar to that..was my girls not mine. I just wired a 12v plug into the bed and plugged it in. Was great. we unplugged it at night tho so my battery wouldn't die as i wasn't dual then.

Those do look sweet. However, that's a steep price for a cooler no matter how bad ass it is.

That's exactly what I was looking at. The only concern I have with it is that it only says it cools up to 40* below ambient temps. If the ambient temp is say 90*-95* in Moab then that means the coldest the cooler could be is 50*-55*.

I want my beer colder than that, haha!

edit: I could always just keep it in the back seet and keep the windows up and the A/C on, I guess. Maybe doing that anyway if it's actually that hot.

    Yea idk man haha

Im not sure if thats the exact one we used..but it worked great :notsure: i didn't have it in moab though..she brought it there..but i didn't know it was electric haha

if you keep it out of the sun it'll help a lot. We kept the cooler just covered at camp by a tarp and we only had to change ice like 3 days later..

good thing about the iceholes is they are rated to keep dry ice in it, so that could help you keep your shit cold...

the guys who came up with it though are avid hunters in texas who claim the boxes can keep ice for 7 days in 100+ degree weather

meh. i'll stick with my trusty 20yr old coleman.

keeps most of the ice for 2-4 days. and it doubles as a seat to keep my ass cold!

Cheaper then a 12volt or the ARB Fridge.
Yeah but an accidental dead battery is worse. :)

I LOVE my ARB fridge. I only use coolers to store my dry food (ice free of course) now. No way I can go back to old coolers and ice.
