Locker is in. Couldn't find gear marking compound so I just used paint. It looked good from what I could tell. Truck drives good going down the road and the locker works great. :D

Sweet. How does the locker act on the street? I am curious to find out how mine will handle, the spool can be a little scary if you forget it is there.

Is your 3rd a solid spacer pinion? If it is, you should be able to re-assemble the diff just by putting everything back in the reverse of how it came out and torquing the pinion to spec. Assuming you didn't leave any shims out and got the pinion torque right, all the bearing pre-loads and pinion depth should return to what they were before disassembly.

Crush sleeve is a whole other ball game.

It's not too bad. If your on the gas while turning very slow it hops. But besides that i dont see what everyone complains about.

I didn't have to remove the pinion gear. I'm not sure if its solid or not. Everything looked good though.

Let me be clear on something...did the locker replace the spider gears in the factory carrier, or was it a whole new carrier assembly you moved the ring gear onto?

It just replaced the spider gears but I did have to remove the ring gear from the carrier.

You're fine then. The bearings and shims were already set-up for that gearset and carrier. Just put everything back in reverse of the way it came out and you're good.

If it'd been, say, and ARB that replaces the whole carrier, then you're boned. You gotta break out the in-lbs tq wrench, dial indicator and re-shim the carrier bearings to correct backlash and pre-loads. Once all that's done, you'll probably find that your pinion depth and bearing pre-loads are fucked now because the new carrier is a few thousandths of an inch off from the previous one and the ring gear is now sitting in a different place and dicking up the gear mesh. So then you get the lovely experience of ripping out all the pinion stuff and re-doing it. Then check the pattern, find out you need to make a few more adjustments and repeat 3 or 4 times.

    Whee...

Yeah the bottom leaf is out of that pack. I had to cut a few inches off each side though.
