Hahaha. I have done many sheetrock repairs. Depends on how big it is. Only one small fist sized hole?

You and me both..did a few of em on my upstairs thanks to my nephew when he lived here plus ripped apart 3 rooms down to studs..and patched a few more holes from having to access wiring and whatnot.

LOL I got fog lights needing an install, perhaps a barter :)

Good deal. It's pretty easy to do actually, if you didn't feel comfortable walking through it with me I can maybe come by. It's an easy repair and then you just paint it after. Don't matter if there's no stud visible, I would find them..part of the repair is cutting your patch piece to hit 2 studs so you have something to screw into.

This. Or you can cut the hole smaller and add nailers. I tried to find a youtube video on how i do small holes, no studs, nailers or screws required but that hole might be a little big for this method. Basically you cut a small square of sheetrock bigger than the hole. But the trick is you score it from the back and don't cut the paper face. You score one cut, break the sheetrock and then peel the paper facing off of the waste. You want to end up with a 4x4 square of sheetrock but the paper face will be like 10x10. This is really hard to describe without pictures and im not even half way done explaining how to do it lol...ill quit while im ahead and look for a video

That's an easy fix..roughly how large would you say the holes are? Both left-right and top-bottom

I get what you are saying Evan, but like you said this hole might be a wee bit too much for it..just my hunch. Plus it would be less strong than screwing the thing, at least that's my experience.

Is it a rental? If so stuff some newspaper in there and get a bag of durabond 20 minute, that stuff dries hard as a rock. Lol, if you want to do it right do it like chris suggested, find the studs and cut the sheetrock out.

What I'd do at the moment is put Saran Wrap over it to keep some of the cold out.

When you're ready to do a little poking around, pull a little of the busted section out (that your fist hit I mean) and shine a light in so you can see the studs. Should be 16" on center, building code and all that other good stuff. Or just use a stud finder.

I thought of an idea. Cut hole out and square it's 8x6. Then take a 2x4 put it in hole and screw it to the sheet rock from the outside. Cut a section of sheet rock to size with liquid nails on the back side. Compound it, maybe screen it? Then sand and paint?

    It is a rental also

I think if you right click on the start menu, you can choose between classic start menu and the new style.

For the time you'll spend on that, you could just as easily find the studs and screw in a piece of 'rock you cut with a razor knife and compound it..you'll have the repair done the best way and you'll save some time.

Up for doing fogs in my Tacoma?
