I've been lurking the forum for a while and just bought my 2013 Tacoma Prerunner yesterday.--my very first Tacoma.

Your statement got me laughing so hard, I decided to join up and comment. (I would have joined eventually).

The rep you were referring to is the one that's full of $h_t!

Anyway---In most areas of the country--not all-- if you paid $100 over invoice, you've over paid.

I live in FL and still have to deal with the SET BS fees and Toyoguard--and of course the dreaded $700 dealer fees. My invoice price and sticker price is going to be higher than someone in another state that is not supplied by my distributor.

When you put them all against each other ---you'll smoke out the best deal. Depends on where they are on goals, bonuses, etc.

My truck had a sticker of $29,299 -- and I got it for $25,400 plus tax, tag and title. I bet if I would have waited it out, I would have saved even more.

This includes the Southeast Toyota fee of $900 (hidden in the invoice) and the $699 Toyoguard crap (probably worth $200--roadside assist, oil change, etc).

It's a 2013 V6 Prenunner with SR5 and tow package, with alloy wheels -includes tint, carpet mats, toyoguard elite.

I bet someone living outside the southeast could get a better deal and thinks I paid too much.

Replaced a 2003 Tundra TRD Sport that I bought new with the Tacoma. Off the lot with way more options than I had planned on (Entune is pretty cool) + leather: 35,500 + 2,200 TTL (welcome to TX). I planned on going to Colorado to get what I wanted, but they managed to find one in the state. So far it's the best Toyota I've ever had.

I wish I could have gotten more options on mine, but I just couldn't afford it. Yeah, that entune is pretty cool--HD radio, voice Navi, sat radio, and the apps. Maybe next time.

I really liked my Tundra but a guy in a mustang decided to occupy the same space as I passed him. Didn't turn out well for either of us, but insurance was stand-up for me. Made the decision easier on the new truck. My biggest challenge was finding a new 4wd truck in TX. I'd be west and north all the time if my paycheck didn't stop here.

When you're negotiating with them, don't include the college rebate in your numbers. Toyota gives you that money not the dealer..so if you bring it up and the dealer tries to use it as part of their own "awesome deal" for you, it's bullshit because it doesn't come out of their pockets anyway. You can definitely go lower on that offer, down to the $28k range and then get your rebate on top of that. My MSRP was at 30.1K and I got it at 26.1K before TTL.

Yeah, I've been doing that when I negotiated the price so really the offer was 30k. That's $423 above invoice, according to Edmunds. The tough part is that there's no 4x4 TRD OR anywhere nearby, so I have to order from the factory. Less buying power when you're not taking something off their lot.

I got my TRD Off Road doublecab for about 30,600. It was an online, end of year clearance. Also I got it at Broadway Toyota in downtown portland so I don't think they sell too many Tacos, which probably factored into it.

Word. You can go way below that invoice price though. Always take the dealer's holdback into consideration. You should try calling around nearby states and ask dealers for quotes on what you want. It could end up saving you a couple grand in the end when you come back to your dealer with other offers.

We've traded vehicles for some very odd reasons... once just because we needed to fill a tank! LOL!

But you are right, I've decided after looking into the insurance increase along with the registration costs (this year cost me only $138.00!) plus a new payment for at least two years, well, it will be beneficial to just keep it. If I do decide to get rid of it, I'm in no hurry and can sell it on my own for more. So long as it is good weather (spring, summer, fall) then I have my motorcycle to commute with.

Still, that 2013 Spruce Mica in the sport package is eff'n beautiful!!!

    Hello all,

New to the forum. I will be new Toyota customer in May (give or take if I finda deal). I have enjoyed lurking the last few years and decided to become amember. I will be buying a 2013 Tacoma Reg. Cab 4x4 auto in Barcelona RedMetallic with sliding rear window and that's it. I will buy my own WeatherTech floor mats somewhere else. The MSRP for this is $23,590 (only option is the auto and $140 rear window).

I have read this thread front to back, but only 1 reg. cab was posted. I would like to find out what others have paid for there's but that's hard to come by on a reg. cab. I have seen one with same msrp for 22k even plus 6% PA sales tax and $220 for the (title, tag, reg., and small doc fee), but that was a month ago and have not seen that good of price since. I finally have enough cash saved up to buy one out right. I think around Memorial day there might be the big sales, I could be wrong. If someone knows the invoice price of the model above please share, I would like to know. I have used some invoicing websites with no luck. I have a 1995 Ford Escort LX that is in great shape cosmetically and mechanically so I'm in no hurry. I will NOT be trading it in. Once I buy the truck I will sell the Escort myself to a friend.

Took me a long time to save up the money, but if it's like my neighbors 96 Tacoma reg. cab 4x4 is will last 293,000+ miles and that's why I want one.

    Thanks for the help, Shawn.

Damn. Im feeling robbed looking through this. I hope people are full of shit. I picked up a '13 V6 PreSR5, same as yours and walked out with 30k after all taxes and bullshit. i think it was 27k before.

Anyway, i love the truck. Had been looking at them for some time and ended up having my mazda (car) blow a rod on me, so I was pressed.

Someone tell me I got out somewhat ok, jeeze.

    Hey all,
Hopefully I will be looking to buy a 2013 Tac, DC, LB 4X4, TRD, Sport with the nav/jbl blah blah. The toyota web site IIRC is ruffly $35000.00. I am hoping to try and get it for 32K OTD. I found the below listed web site on another members post. GOOD READING before you go and buy.

Looking at a DCLB 4x4 v6 TRD Sport, Entune, door sills, floor mats and tow package. Sticker price of $34,980. Was driven for 5k miles by the service director(a friend of mine). They are willing to sell it for $31,500. Other option is a brand new one with the same specs for $33k which is invoice. Thoughts?

Tacoma quad cab 4x4, V6, auto trans, cooper 31" AT tires installed for me (it had street tires for some reason), touch screen radio, non painted fenders or bumpers (i actually prefer the black ones for some reason), i do not have a backup camera (i did fine without one in my 2500 so see little point in this truck). I paid 26,500 not including tax, title, license.

His is an anomaly - discount for sister's employment, discount for college rebate, clerical error that gave him another $1000 off, etc... I'm not sure why he keeps posting it for comparison as nobody would be able to reproduce his results, making it not terribly relevant to the thread or other poster's bargaining...

I get that he's proud of the price, but it's not terribly helpful to others to continue to post it as if they should use that as a basis for their pricing.
