I was just wondering if anybody has stuffed a Tundra V-8 into a second gen Tacoma. Sounds like an interesting project. That would be a real TRD truck.

People say I have a head full of bad ideas

maybe the 1st gen 4.7. but good luck even trying the new 5.7. and MPG would not really change or anything. also would have to do A LOT of wiring. Not worth it IMHO(or probably to most people)

Lexus gx470 is built on the 4runner platform and uses a 4.7L finding one of those for a donor vehicle would yield the best result but it would be a overwhelming amount of work, my last build was a 5.0 in a ranger and before that was a 5.8 in a jeep YJ, after sizing up my taco I will be going the SC route

Toyota did this with a concept xrunner, they called it the Tacoma RTR. youtube it. fits like oem. Not interested in the auto, or cost of swap though.
