Yeah I figured that. I'm painting in freezing weather but I have no choice. Can't paint inside the house and no heaters so this is the only way. It deff not going to be perfect but oh we'll. I can always touch it up later. It's way to cold to make it perfect.

Ya i had that problem paiting my sliders. I kept my spray paint inside, kept the sliders inside also and ran 2 space heaters in the garage for an hour before painting.

Yeah. That's good you had the heaters and you could do it inside. I have no heaters or nothing so it's deff hard. I have done 3 sets of wheels painting so far and I've never liked it. Too long of a process

Are you getting alot of orange peel and/or runs? If you are its probably because of the temp

No orange peel as of yet and no runs. I've been doing light coats on it so I hope that helps me.

Question lol. Would you buy a lift or sliders first haha. I'm thinking sliders.

Nice, just because its cold doesnt mean the paint is going to come out bad, its just harder to get a good paint job when you are not painting in ideal conditions, i learned that the hard way. Well if you can already fit the tire size that you want to run then you dont really need a lift first. So really whichever one. I personally would lift it first, sliders only protect your body not the undercarraige so having a few extra inches of clearance would be more beneficial offroad i think. Although you wheel with dave alot and his truck isnt lifted right?

That's true. I was kept thinking the cold was gonna ruin the damm wheels but so far they seem great. I'm happy :). Lets hope they last lol.

The tires are gonna fit well and look beefy so all I need is lift and sliders. I get that the lift would help me when I'm offroading for sure but then again I want sliders to help my with my rockers. I do wheel with Dave and he does fine. I'm only putting a small 2inch lift on her. Something small yet still good. Maybe I'll buy the billies and then the sliders

Haha woho! You should get a job temporarily doing a trade, you know some basic carpentry and wiring right? You could probably make more than that if you work for the right guy. My buddy and i hire his little bro to do bitch work at 20 an hour sometimes. We work him hard tho lol

I went with sliders first, but only because of the B.A.M.F. sale. I would have gone with a lift first otherwise. I think

    Hey Evan,
Did you sand your sliders to scuff them up before painting? If yes, what grit did you use?

I didnt sand the bare metal because i used self etching primer. I did clean up most of the welds with a flap disc sander. If i was going to sand them i would probably use 100 or 120 i would think 80 or 60 could show the scratches thru the paint if you press to hard

No problem. Sanding is always good and might give you a better bond, i just didnt want to go to crazy knowing they are going to get scratched up no matter what i do

Are you ganna do the spray bedliner? I went with rustoleum profesional high performance enamel. My buddy bedlined his rocker panels and they always look dirty so i decided not to use it even though it is probably more durable.

I'm going to use the Dupli beadliner Rob used. His look clean, but then again his truck always looks clean. Have you seen his engine bay? It's unbelievable
