Is that pic with the rearend drooped? The axel actually slides forward on droop. I know on stock trucks the dust cover is even with the rim of that sleeve. I've never seen one that stuffed

So im torn between Fox Factory series and King race series, The Kings are about $200 more per shock of the same dimensions and tubes. Any input or at this level is it still just pick a color?

Is Engage giving you any suggestions?

Is it pretty cramped in there? Are their size variations between the 2 where fit issues may come into play?

Fitment isn't an issue, I could run 4.4s if i desired. Also build time on kings are 2-3 weeks as foxes are 4-8.

1.75" DOM, I know 2" would probably be better but I will be right on the edge of weight for 1.75" and fitment is tight in a 1st gen

I was on the fence as well but ended up with fox. Reason being is a shim for a fox/ radflo (same shims) are about a dollar. Kings are 3 bucks and everything else is three times as much as well. Because they make a prerunner series and race series shock they have to charge more to compensate for pressing out multiple products and so there race shocks are also much more expensive and like said over 700 a shock while fox's with the same quality are 522. Also Fox parts are redily available to me at ORW and all the local off-road shops because Fox is in El Cajon while King is up north in Garden Grove. Both are great companies but for me convenience of parts and saving alot of money on coilovers, tripples, bumps and repairing/ working on the shocks was it for me. Plus if I do get into racing, they are pretty good about helping the small guys like us and they do it with groups in plaster city.

The most common debate was Fox uses larger resi's with more oil like alot of other shock companies while king uses a smaller resi made out of aluminum so it is suppose to keep the shock cooler. More oil/ larger area for cooling vs. aluminum resi. Both are great, go ask Andy Mcmillin what he thinks with Fox and then BJ Baldwin about King and they will both say they are the best lol. At the end of the day its not gunna be the shocks fault, it'll be the users fault for not spending the time to valve the shocks in 100%

Oh and u might find this interesting if u wanna get into details with the shock, its like 4 years old though but still pretty informing:
