I know that with OME and Eibach coils many people use a top plate spacer for a little extra lift.. Can you do this if you have bilstein's set at 2.5 to achieve the same effect, or is this a no-no? It was hard to narrow the search function to filter out threads about OME and Eibach so I figured I'd ask.

    Thanks!!

Pre load plus a top spacer isn't a good idea, but you can do it.. the ride will be rough.

OK.. That's what I figured. I know my ride will be rough as is set @ 2.5.

I'm sure there are people running that setup without issues, I wouldn't see much problems except for CV angles or a stiff ride.

the top plate will not make the ride worse in, the coil pressure remains the same, the top plate spacer from toytec is mounted outside of the coil over assembly, they have 2 different sizes of these, pic which one you want and giver. if you have lean use the larger on the left and the smaller on the right and good to go.

    Not sure if serious...
    Tacoma's don't have struts.

And unless he's wheeling hard, a 1/4" top plate isn't going to make the bottom of the SHOCK break.

Shock + coil = strut assembly ? Correct me if I'm wrong but I've always called it that..

front are struts, rear are shocks. i mustve misread, i thought he wanted to put a 2.5" spacer on top of the 5100s being set at 2.5". in which would move the STRUT down, and wouldnt take much to snap the bottom of it. but the .25" spacer on top of the 5100s set to 2.5" will just give a full 3" of lift in the front. my bad OP.

    You're wrong.
Tacomas utilize a coilover shock assembly with a LCA and UCA (up front). A strut is utilized as a replacement for the UCA. No vehicle with struts has a UCA.
