Most all vehicles when you lock the door in the front you pull the latch and it will unlock. My Tacoma doesn't do this you have to pull the little thing up. Is there a way around this it's annoying, can be a pain in an emergency.

    It's actually a safety feature...
so that a little kid won't accidentally open the door
if they pull on the lever.

I think it's kinda foolish to override a safety device
    just because your inconvenienced some.

    guess I'm of no help...
but then... it's not really an inconvenience for me.

I see your concern but I don't have children nor drive any. If I did they'd be in the back seat.

I'm trying to override this because all my passengers complain and even I get pissed off at it. When I pull the latch the door should unlock itself and open. Every vehicle I've owned has done this.

GF hates it big time, Sunday she was drunk and fought me to unlock it now my truck smells like puke. Maybe tomorrow I'll mess around with the locks

Posting ass pictures is a good way to get people in here but honestly I have no idea what you wrote. Every time I got like 3 words in and my eyes just kept focusing downward.

So you're saying you couldn't get it up fast enough and your girl puked in the truck? Can't have that... bummer.

Sorry, Dave, I have nothing useful to add

Why are the doors locked when you're inside?

The truck auto-locks when you start the engine. At least mine does.

i have a similar problem. i guess my buddy had his arm out the window and somehow pushed it down too far and now the little, latch? is that the technical term? anyways i pulled it out and now it doesnt do anything. and i always just pull them up to unlock. i just took the door panel off and theres almost no way to get to it

does anyone know what that little thing is called? or info to point me in the right direction?
