I would add some rtv to the backs of those and some Dielectric grease to the inside. My HID's on my passenger side rusted and melted the plug. Luckily they only cost $2.

Good Samaritan laws are actually extremely murky. It depends on state/local laws, duty to act, if the person rendering aid has any medical training or not, the situation at hand, so on and so forth.

As long as you [person rendering aid] don't do anything grossly negligent/harmful, and use common sense, you would probably be fine. You don't want to move someone with possible trauma if you don't know what you're doing, unless it's an "emergency move". An emergency move is when you move someone, without considering spinal precautions, because the person is in immediate danger.

(remember the video of the motorcyclist who went underneath a car, and the car caught fire; a bunch of civilians lifted up the car and dragged him out by the feet: perfect example of a justifiable emergency move.)

It would be reasonable (logically justifiable) for a civilian to walk up to that person and move the motorcycle off of him. Unless a part of his body was impaled by something and he was stuck to the bike, moving it would probably not cause any damage. It would be very difficult for that person to be successfully sued, because they moved the bike, even if it (somehow) caused additional damage, it probably wouldn't be considered grossly negligent.

However, if you walked up, moved the bike off of him, and dragged him by the helmet 20 feet to the side of the road, then yea, he could probably sue you.



Personally: Off duty with no equipment/gloves/uniform, I would probably call 911 and maybe try to block traffic so he didn't get hit by a car. Emergency scenes are not fun in plainclothes, even if you say "I'm an EMT/nurse/medic/whatever", if a person is conscious/alert with no absolutely obvious life threats, they're not going to want a stranger off the street coming up and putting their hands all over them. I sure as fuck wouldn't, unless I was immediately in danger and completely unable to help myself.

Even civilians need consent to aid someone unless it's implied... but that gets into a different conversation all together.

Missed two steps on campus and it was wet on the steps. Whole body weight on the outside rolled ankle. Hobbled a mile home but so far it's not too bad. Probably a minor sprain
