Never really been off road before. The wife and I went out exploring the East reservation of the Air Force Base this morning. There were several small trails I had to back out of due to mud. Had we had a 4X4, we'd have had at it. We were by ourselves and didn't want to get stuck with no help around. Forgot we had the camera about half way through the day and missed taking pics of the best trail we found.

Most are just tracks going back in the woods to deer stands, but all in all a lot of fun. We spent about 3 hours out there just tooling around in the woods.

Here's some pics of the stuff we were on...nothing really difficult, but still a lot of fun for a couple of off-road noobs.:D

I used to go out there all day in my 2wd Dodge Ram, probably not the best idea some times, LOL. We used to fish all the spots out on the res, take the access roads to the far back and you will find some good Crappie fishing. I used to live off of Flag lake, on Flag Cir, about 200 yds off my back yard was the lake and i had my 14ft John boat tied up down there for easy access. But yeah, some of them spots would swallow up the tires on my buddies jeep, nice area to go off roading though, Have fun

We've been here since 2000 and never once have we been out to Harmon lake.:frusty: We found a few really small ponds back in there. Would be really nice to camp out there this summer. For sure we'll be out to Harmon lake soon. Outdoor rec has made a bunch of improvements out there.

Really wished we had a 4wd though...would have like to know where some of them other trails went.

Which Squadron are you in? I was there until i PCS'd to Edwards, 1999-2004. Nice place though, not many bases have that kind setup, many places to go and check out, and lots of sport available to anyone right on base. Kinda miss it actually. I was in the 20th, had some good buddies in the 96th and 11th as well.

That is neat stuff:) your shorter wheelbase could get you to even deeper places that your other truck may not have!

2W1, used to be in wpns backshop (MUNS), but then to the 96th in late 05. Now up in the Bomb Wing in IG. Been here a long time and know quite a few folks. Hard to go anywhere nowadays and not run into someone I know.
