So trying to prep for the future on lift kits and on most of the stuff I want require a 4.50 Max wheel backspacing. Since I have FJ trail teams wheels which has a backspacing just under 5in I am going to need spacers so I am looking a spidertrax 1.25 since it seems like they get great reviews from you all..

Question is will the hub centric spidertrax work with trail teams wheels? been searching for a while if the fj's wheels are hub or lug centric with no joy..

If anyone has this wheel/spacer combo that would be awesome..

Spidertrax, All-Pro, and Bora all make hub-centric adapters that will work with the FJ wheels. You will not have a problem with any of them.

Plenty of folks run the trail teams wheels with 285's without the need for spacers.

I'm going to take a wild guess that he's looking at 6" drop bracket lift kits. Most of those kits require 4.5" or less for clearance.

Don't they usually require 17" wheels too?
Or are the spacers necessary so you can get away with using 16" wheels.

Correct.. But not going for a 6". the spindles I want from camburg says they have a max of 4.5". Eventually going for a mid travel setup.. Plus would not mind the wider stance
