It's only gonna hold you over for a small amount of time before you have to replace them again with something better

Were you still in warranty? I just rolled out after getting back from my deployment. Doubt they will do it out of goodwill, eh worse things in life.

Thank you for your service, but use that to your advantage. Go in and say I know I'm out of warranty, but I'm just back from (insert country here) defending our country and I'm hitting my bump stops with a rough ride. Couldn't hurt to try, maybe they will help a veteran out. :notsure:

Installed my HAM radio, I still need to figure what I want to use for an antenna mount

I'm not sure if I want a hood mount, mount it off the bed rack or take it to the radio shop & have it mounted thru the roof.

I have both. Hood and roof. They both work about the same. The roof will give better ground plane. My hood mount works good also since I have a full 1/4 dual band. The roof is only about a foot long. The roof/NMO mount is very easy to do by yourself with a step bit. Just a 3/4 hole. If you were local to Cleveland I would do it for ya.
