I don't get the issue here.

Since when is it wrong to call your favorite team, "we" and "us", and whatnot?? I'm sure this has been debated here before - but I don't give a shit. I've followed "my" favorite hockey team longer than some people in this Thread have been alive. The Oilers are "my" team. I want "my" team to beat "your" team. It's as simple as that.

If you honestly get your panties in a twist over people saying "we" and "us", then you need to find a different hobby. Sports isn't for you. If you're passionate about a sports team.....then they're "your" team. Period!!

Get over yourself dude.

 

I understand the "we" and "us" thing, but I'll always laugh when a fan says "we beat the Sharks last night..." You're a fan of a team that is part of the NHL right? Did you forget about that lockout thing that just ended in Jan? Or do you think it was a myth and the Oilers had 40 away games that weren't televised?

I'm passionate as the next guy about THE Bruins. They're not MY Bruins.

There are always people jumping on the bandwagon, I don't have an issue with it. I last year heading into the cup I jumped on one because my team was out makes the playoffs more enjoyable.

 

I wouldnt consider that wagon jumping.. thats just rooting for a team that made the cup.. Wagon jumping is when you leave your team for a team thats winning mid season. IMO at least

That works but I also include disappearing when your team sucks and then loudly proclaiming your life long fandom when they start playing better.

 

That too, but if you just root for 1 team in the playoffs and then go back to your team after the cup I dont consider that being a wagon jumper

 

I hate the the tards here in California who have clothing outfits dedicated to a hockey team but have never seen snow or touched a puck in their life...

No. I assume you should know a little about the team before you claim you're a fan. Kids at the mall all in teal and they don't know who Cheechoo or Thornton are? Blake? I'm not even a Sharks fan but know more than them.

Nothing better than a Kings fan at the local grocery store tell me word for word "The Ducks will never have a cup." That was right after last years final.

I usually root for seperate individuals who i think deserve the cup if Anaheim doesn't make it or is eliminated. Vancouver is a team I enjoy watching so that's my Canadian pick and my close second to root for. Don't really have an eastern team since my hate for specific players outweighs the need to follow the east coast.

...And hate the Kings, Rangers, Flames, Sean Avery, And BGR.
