How to wire sub? D10 D4 V.3)

I need some quick help guys!!!

I am installing my stereo and not 100% sure how to wire my sub...

I am not sure if I should wire it in SERIES or PARALLEL???

The sub is a Image Dynamics 10" V.3 (4 ohm) and will be powered by an Alpine PDX-5.

This is the last thing I have to do and I'll be done! Installed my whole stereo today.

Parallel. Creates 2 ohm load on the amplifier. You will get all the advertised power. Series drops it to 8ohms which won't give you the same power from your amp.

will that amp do 2 ohm mono?

 

the alpine pdx amps produce the same power at 2 ohms and 4 ohms. i would wire it for 2 ohms though. post some pics and give a feedback on how it sounds. i'm going to be using the same sub and a pdx 1.600. marv just informed me that my box is complete. can't wait

 

Some amps won't do 2 ohm mono. Hard to tell from the specs on the PDX but seems that amp don't care what ohm load you put on it.

I'd still ask the question though...wont hurt to ask.

 

the pdx 5 doesn't bridge it's sub channel as that is the only channel available for the sub.

 

does it have a dedicated mono section in the amp?

 

yes. i think the specs are 75 watts x4 and 300 x 1

 

System sounds awesome! I just need to tune it. I have the Alpine 9887 deck and there are way too many adjustments.

The PDX5 produces the same power with either 2 or 4 ohm. I'll post pics of my install soon. Thanks again!
