I talked about this earlier in the thread but on 2nd Gens it will use the factory rails and tie down cleats for mouting.

Are there different sizes for double cab beds (like yours) and extended cab beds?

I personally don't have one but I've seen the one on Adams truck and it looked great. If I didn't have my top or my headache rack with rails going down the sides, I would definitely get one.

I was able to somehow get a couple hours this morning to work on racks. Didn't get as much done as I'd hoped but I'm almost done with two new ones. I thought I'd share a couple photos.

This particular customer requested two extra tie down tracks, one along the front and one along the back. This rack will also have 3 of the shovel clamps. I assume for axe, shovel and one more tool, as well as mounts for a hilift.

FYI, people have ordered racks from Virginia, N.Carolina, Canada, California, Colorado. I'm pretty sure I can get one to you wherever you are. (although the ones going to Canada have to be shipped differently or picked up on the US side of the border). Kentucky wouldn't be a problem

They look great! Just have a quick question. First i understand u are using the rail system but are u using the actual rail system or the mounts of the system to the truck bed. Also How much weight do you think a second gen could handle if you are using the rail system? Either way think these are def on my to buy list. Anyone pull the trigger on a second gen rack.. I might have to be the first...

There is actually very little (if any) weight load on the rail system itself. The rack feet sit on top of the bed rails so almost the entire load of the rack and cargo is on top of the bed rails. So this is really no different than a camper shell. The mounting to the bed rail system is just a way of securing the rack to the bed and not have it slide forward or back.

FWIW, the 2nd Gen bed track system is much stronger than the vertical part of the bedrail on a 1st gen and that's where these are mounted on a 1st Gen.

If anyone around the Portland OR area plans on purchasing one of these, let me know to talk about combined shipping. I haven't ordered one yet, but plan on it.

I'll have to look into this because I think the current shipping using Greyhound won't really change if I'm shipping multiple racks. However, if you have anyone up there that wants a rack and you guys can arrange shipping from your end that makes it a better deal, I'm happy to use whatever method you want.

Tax refund equals Box Rocket bed rack!! :woot:

Edit: I just re-read the whole thread and answered all of my questions in my PMs.

I do still have one question, is it better to bolt through the tops of the rails or the sides? Or are the mounting holes pre-drilled?
