Anyone got pics of 2 dirt bikes in there truck?

Need to make a mount in front of box. Not sure how close 2 bike would be in the box

Do u have to put one bike backwards so the don't hit each other??

Never had a smaller truck before

 

I was able to fit my 2004 YZF-R1 and my friends 2002 GSX-R 1000 side-by-side both facing forward in my 1999 Tacoma extended cab 4x4. Havent put one in my new 2013 yet, but I woulda thought the 2013 had more room? no pics of course...

Had both bikes towards the outer edges of the bed and the bars overlap maybe just a couple inches.

 

Pretty easy to fit a couple bikes in the back of one of these trucks.

 

i still dont get how you guys get the bike so close to the sides... when i tie mine off like that it tips to the opposite side of the side thats tied close to the edge. there's not enough angle to support it. I end up having to use another tie down to wrap around the frame and tie off to the side of the bed.

also, these are all longer beds. on a 5 foot bed, the wheel sticks off the tailgate.

 

I agree. Mine are towards the outsides of the bed but I keep them centered enough to get good angles on the tie downs. I cringe when i look in the rear view while cornering and see slack in the tie downs.

 

I just slide my footpegs under the side rail and tighten my straps down good and have no problem with them staying in place while driving. I have a moto bar too, it holds my front tire and allows me better tie down mounting locations.

 

I have the same problem with putting them far apart. Seems that you really have to tighten the outside straps to get them to not get the slack.

What do you mean that you are making a mount??

I notice that when I tie the bikes down, the plastic kletes in the track system flex a little. They are rated at 650 lbs of torque, but that's pulling on them, I don't know how the are rated for being pulled at a 50 ish degree angle.

You might want to put D rings in on the bed mounts to get a real strong mount.

I've had 2 full size bikes in the bed with the tailgate closed. I simply angled them booth in a little and they fit perfectly.

When It's just my bike, I will put a tie down over the seat or through the frame becuase i've noticed the back end of the bike bouncing around in the bed out on some washes and such

Very easy to fit 2 bikes in the back, just have to let the gate down unfortunately. With one bike, you can put it in there sideways and the gate will close, that is what I did with mine anyway.

I traded my Honda in last fall for a quad though, 400ex and it fits in the back with the gate up.

 

The op wants to build a mount like this.

 

Two in the bed plus a hitch carrier. I made a few of these heavy duty bed buddies and sold off what my friends didnt want. Lowballers made me not want to make any more.

 

^Very useful in keeping the front tire from turning side to side as well

Side note or question, what kind of gas cans are those?
I have been looking for some like that.
Want the Square type and a hose like that to make it easy for filling the ATV or Gen.
All the ones I found have a little pop off cap on the side and look cheap or say not for gas or fuel.

I like them due to the base and they sit good on the trailer or truck. You can line a few up.

 

someone posted a similar one to what i made for my last fullsize truck

just looked at it today. looks like ill have to move the outer ones in a bit. cut the ends off to fit in this new truck

 

Made my own mount. Was about $70 total.... $50 was for the powder coating which i should have looked around for a better deal on.....

so how did it work out? would you cut those out in the exact spots again or would you move the outer ones in or out a bit??
