excuse my ignorance, is corvair good or bad?

 

Its all about being creative fitting spares and storage in bed cage but, horizontals on a gen1 is probably limited to 33's because of the total width. I like mine and have no rear view restriction.

And jeff, the paddles are fun on the tacos, but i would like too supcharge mine to get more out of them. Is your truck 3.4?

Well it depends on how its been built, other than re building the heads with heavier valve springs, & keeping the carbs in synch, the biggest problem with the corvair was keeping oil in them as I recall, but they were def. quick,torquey engines that responded well to engine MODS & if done correctly (building with the afore problems addressed) it was possible to get around 200hp out of the 160hp corvair without too much money & effort,& with SC they were getting 240HP+ IIRC

 

interesting, i think i'm gonna go with a subie motor down the road, but for now a VW will do.

Well, I called the number, and some chick in an office picked up, I asked a out the mounts and she's like..."look, we just sell these things, the fab guy is down in chula something, call him" and then I couldn't get a number out of her and te website was a bust.

The only thing I haven't checked on yet is how these things actually fit our roofs. I need to get off my ass and check their measurements vs our roof to see f shit will line up

Damn i haven't been in here in a while.....crazy how stressful situations all come at once. just applied to a new job. Wish me luck!

 

No, but I am Desert bound tomorrow morning, does that count? Gotta stay with some friends in their Trailer since my Fuking RV failed smog and got hit with a Gross Polluter flag, it passed with flying colors at 2500 RPMs but was ONLY out of spec in the HCs at idle, this is all because of a simple carb adjustment, what a PITA to say the least, gonna register in in Az, Ca can suk my balls.

In order to fix it here I am forced to have somebody else fix it (that has a 4 gas analyzer which I do not have), charging me whatever they want and will now be forced to smog it annually and not every other year now because of the GP flag....lame. Even if I get the RV to blow nothing but water vapor I would still have to test every year for like $80+, for some reason they charge more to smog the RV even though it doesnt require the Dyno and takes like 10 minutes, WTF is that all about? Oh well, it wont matter, gonna change that in a couple of weeks...yay!
