REally? A whole tread on RC CARS?!?!? NICe. I just recently dug out my old trucks. I saw them in storage and had to pull em out.. Now they are sitting on my work bench, and I'm trying to figure out which one works and which ones don't Lol. So many extra tires and random parts lol.

 

Didn't even know there rock crawling R/Cs. Crazy!

 

Can someone tell me how I can test my old batteries? They have been sitting discharged for a good 5 years. I charged one up for like 30 minutes. Seemed like it only lasted about 5 minutes. I've been out of the hobby for so long I don't even know if thats about normal or not haha

I've got one of the Losi 1/36 micros, I put the brushless in it and its awesome. I really need to add LiPos to it and really see how it does...we had a lot of fun running that in the dorms

 

Yeah lipos are the way to go with anything, I think ill be doing a brushless setup in mine here soon, gotta see what i am getting back with taxes first.

Can someone link me to a beginner introductory or something to read up on pretty please. I have 2 trucks and a street car, But I've had them locked up for ... 7, 8 years. I would like to get back into this hobby, But Im reading about all this new stuff.. Lipos, Brushless,

its fairly easy stufd. when i first started (october 2011) i had no knowledge of anything related to rc lol. brushless motors produce much more power than a brushed motor and they require less maintenanxe. lipos have larger mah capacities and do not use traditional looking battery cells they produce more voltage with less cells and hold their power much longer. 2.4ghz radios have longer range and do nit require crystals. electronoc speed controls are pretty crazy these days though lol you can control almost any aspect of the motor thay yoi want. it will take some time but you'll learn about it all lol

 

Yeah I started reading into lipo batteries.. Seems like a lot of maintenance for those too. discharging it. charging it. storage. I'm studying right now haha.
