Take the wire off the plug and remove the plug. Attach the wire to the plug and put the plug on something metal like to block start it up and see if you can see spark. I'd replace anyways

Take the air cleaner off clean and inspect, it's probably filthy. Try starting with out it.

Prime it up, If you want while the cleaner is off spray a little starting fluid in the throat and try to start...MAKE SURE THE PLUGS INSTALLED

Haha I like the first gen first gens... There was a nice 96 on CL for a good price, I should've picked it up for a trail rig.

Thank you. I'm gonna try those things when I get home tonight. This is something I can do:D. I know where everything is. The air filter must be so dirty after using it for a long period of time

Get some ether, remove plug, spray said ether into plug hole generously, put plug back in and tighten.... I bet she starts in one pull after that.. You can also pour gas into the plug hole instead of spraying ether into it.

You should have picked it up. Trail that rig and keep your new one clean and perfect. That way when you sell it, it's spotless

Start with the simple stuff, check the air filter, then pull the spark plug, plug the wire in, and gently hold the electrode to the engine block and pull it slowly. It should spark, it not, get a new plug (might want to get a new plug anyways, that could be your problem). Next, make sure you're getting fuel and that there's no rust or dirt in the tank. If there is, it very likely got into the carbs and could have clogged up the works.

It probably doesn't have an air filter. At least mine doesn't, not much need. Not a whole lot of dust in the winter/snow

My father has put it thru hell and back so have I. We have never had an engine issue in the last 25 years of ownership. Take care of it every seasons and store it properly. I will agree the newer ones are cheaply made. The older one will take it and throw out water ever entered the auger. we have a Ariens ST824 8hp

You guys really have air filters on your snowblowers? Seems strange to me. Mines an old snapper, doesn't have one.

They're usually just a piece of foam but yeah, it has an air filter. At the very least, they keep crap from getting in the intake during storage. We used to use a stocking as an air filter on our old snow mobile.

I wish I had a skid steer to clear my driveway out... I'd be done in about 20 minutes!

I'll agree, check the spark plug. Sounds like it is fouled out since it wants to run but just sputters for a second. More inclined to think that over fuel delivery.

Mine has a metal cover that goes over the whole carb/ intake manifold, but no airfilter.

My outboard does not have an air filter either :notsure:

I could find a TON of uses for a Bobcat around my house. Very handy machines they are.

Just park it on top of the snow bank . That what I do at work . They plowed it into the corners of the lot . There's no spots open so I just drive up the bank and leave it haha .
