thats rough dude, hope its nothing serious.

on another note, I just watched All or Nothing on pinkbike and it was GREAT! there was a ton of great riding of all sorts. even moto trials. There is a kid on a regular trials bike and he is insane, danny macaskill was amazed

just joined the forum and the mtb thread caught my eye. i've browsed through a bunch of pages and haven't seen many SS rigs ... not to mention fully rigid.

Welcome aboard, cool 1st post. Most people just come here to yak about their tacos :D I have 2 single speeds - 1 is offroad, 1 is multiuse and geared for pavement but both have shocks up front. Also have a non-suspended offroad bike but it has gears............then there are the other 11, lol.

Bad news-I have a fractured right clavicle as suspected. The good news is nothing on my bike is damaged. It made it through the wreck unscathed. I may need to get a new helmet as it took a little bit of a pounding as well. It wasn't a very good helmet anyway but it did its job. Luckily the fracture isn't bad at all and I should heal up nicely as long as I don't do anything stupid.

    Yeah.
It's always crazy when a foot slips or becomes unclipped. It can turn into a great save or a long, drawn-out crash. I had both happen to me last fall, but luckily crashed into leaves and missed all the big rocks and logs.

Sometimes getting some hardware is the best way to go, though. There's no other way to fix a badly-broken clavicle, and getting it to heal straight is important. Mine didn't need surgery but didn't heal entirely straight (that was a long time ago, though).

About 25 years ago I had a spiral fracture of my left femur. They can't set those, so my only options were laying in traction for 6 weeks or hardware. I was an uninsured college student, so they weren't going to give me Option 1 and take up a bed. They used me as a study case for the UT med school at Parkland in Dallas. They drilled a hole all the way down my femur, inserted a rod the entire length and ran two screws through it by the knee and one big one at an angle by the hip. I was walking with no crutches in 4 weeks! It's still in there, no issues, although they didn't get the rotation exactly right and that leg is a little longer than my other one (it is not noticeable, though).

On Monday I went for my first ride since Dec 2nd, and my chain could not take the strain of my winter weight. Luckily it broke at the end of my second lap on the big climb out of the valley, which I probably would have walked much of anyway. Gotta remember to put my chain tool in my pack!

I have plates on both bones in my rt forearm. Skateboard retirement gift from 1981. They don't bother me much but don't want anymore surgical steel implants or any more broken shit at this point in my life.

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
Hey guys! Got a couple updates!

Officially found my NEW favorite rear tire: High Roller II

    Snapseed_15-picsay_zpsfa47f200_4d4728e50d58cee6c1a672459fd8db1bb1f6d353.jpg

Tested it out yesterday, and man it's basically everything I loved about the OG High Roller(great cornering, great self-cleaning, low rolling resistance) BUT with even MORE cornering grip, added transition grip(ripping through s-turns), and MUCH better braking bite and drift controllability.

Running the foldable bead 26 x 2.4 w/EXO sidewall High Roller II on my bike as tubeless---zero problems sealing with your basic Stan's sealant.

Last weekend, I installed a new DHX RC4 Kashima(in 7.875 x 2.0 size) on my friend's Blur TR Carbon then we hit the trail. His verdict: I will NEVER run an air shock on this bike ever again! I guess he loves it? haha...

Not really a mountain bike but this is what I'll be using when I go trail riding.

I come from bmx/dirt jump back ground so I figured this was a good middle ground. Looking for some good knobby tires that aren't too knobby or heavy any thoughts?

I'm running both HRII and Minion haha.

In the front I'm running a Minion DHF Exo 26 x 2.5 as tubeless. Best front tire I've ever used. Grips like no other. Like you, I like to run a fatter dh-style tire in the front w/a skinnier rear. For me, it handles the best.

I opted for the "harder" 60a compound on the High Roller II in the back since it will last longer. I suspect the softer "3C" version of the HRII should corner even better.

When this HRII wears down, I wanna try out a Minion DHR in the rear---heard nothing but good things about that tire as well.
