    Haven't had a problem with the battery on short trips! That doesn't pull enough power to cause short term problems.

    I wouldn't say it repels much of anything. It removes grease and chain lube with ease, but it doesn't have any wax qualities so I'd go with no. You can wax over the chrome or paint and that would help make clean up easier.
