youll lose MPG without a tailgate in place...because air passes over the bed when you have the tailgate up....when you have it down or off air comes off the cab and pushes down on the bed...

Maybe, maybe not though I do take the higway most of the time and this is my daily driver so hopefully the theory of being lighter yielding better mpgs apply as well as not having tailgate wind drag.

FWIW, I think its been proven that having the tailgate up gives better mpg than without it. The theory behind it is that the mileage will be higher with the tailgate up because air going over the cab creates a vacuum in the bed when the tail gate is up, causing the air to go over the bed which reduces drag.

Note that this is a theory. Do whatever floats your boat

I believe that was between tailgate up and tailgate down (not off). Having it up creates a pressure in the bed thus allowing air to glide above the bed (like having a cover). Don't know about off.

yes, its been proven that keeping the tailgate down, or removed, reduce's gas efficiency.

Myth busters proved it, and they even had a vehicle engineer explain it. With the tailgate UP, air moves into the bed and creates a vortex in the bed that allows air to pass over the cab, with the tailgate DOWN the air moves over the cab, and straight into the bed causing downforce and reducing efficiency. And I think it was a considerable loss, like 1-2 mpg.

Got my led turn signals wired in, legal now haha. The blinker still clicks really fast like the bulb is broken or something even though they work fine.

Got a couple coats of primer on, wired turn signals and fixed the wire I cut for my off road lights. Good afternoon. Time to snowboard!

The LED's draw less current so they flash quicker. You can solder in a resistor to make them flash correctly

I think RMAN might have a spare one. Rockauto sent him a replacement and I'm pretty sure he didn't have to return the first one.

Hit him up with a PM
