    .
We live in the same area, I don't think dude understands, most of the spaces anywhere around the Bay Area are made by douche-canoes that try to sqeeze as many fucking prius-sized cars into their lots that they can. There are whole fucking lots that are this way. Fuck, my truck won't fit into most parking garages, if it's shorter than 7'2", I'm screwed. He should try driving a DCLB with a shell on it around SF and see how he likes it. Try finding street spaces in the City that are 30 feet long, yeah, let me know how that works out.

Yeah. The Bay Area is not truck friendly when it comes to parking. And a Prius will easily fit in the space infront of me with 3 inches less of the space.

I had this same problem when I was 20 years old (year 1994). I inherited my grandfather's 1977 Chevy Malibu 4 door when he got a new car, this was the last year that the 'Bu was a really big car. The joke about that car was you don't park it, you dock it. I worked at a building that had been built in the last 5 years prior and it would not fit in any parking space front to back unless I happened to get a space next to the grass and back the car in, which would leave most of the trunk hanging over the curb and rear wheels right against the curb. If I was not able to get that kind of a parking spot I was SOL. Fortunately I worked 2nd shift and wouldn't have a huge problem, but if someone was driving close to the end of the parking row and not paying attention I would have got clipped.

That said, it doesn't mitigate someone being a douche and hitting your vehicle either. It's not like you're half in each spot or I could see you being rude, still doesn't warrant that kind of response. I would have left a very nasty note at the least for that person.

It is inconsiderate for you to take up all of one space and part of another. You really don't see this?

We are talking about a couple Inches of the space. The person who chooses that space is getting there after me and is choosing to take the space minus 3 inches. They shouldn't take the space and hit me. That's inconsiderate. A lot of people with small cars in my lot park over the line infront of their vehical on accedent. I don't consider that inconsiderate. I just don't take the space infront of them because I know I will stick to far out the back then.

It doesn't matter where you park. If the timing works out that an idiot in a car is in the area at that moment they will hit someone. I've had 2 parked vehicles that had people run into them. First I had a ridgeline in a parking lot and some kid pulled around the back of it and ran the whole side of his car along my rear bumper. The second time my tacoma was parked in front of my previous residence, another kid sideswiped his car along the front bumper of my truck. WTF!!! Makes you wanna smack some MF's.

I almost thought this thread was made by that Colt1911 guy it's so stupid. Since when does driving a vehicle that sticks out of a parking spot give you the right to then pull into the spot in front of you? Either leave the ass hanging out or find a bigger spot. What if somebody else with a long truck needed to use that spot? Now your pushing them farther out putting their vehicle in more danger, but you must be special right?

Edit: Oh you were there first, that makes it all ok

You misunderstand me. I think he was being a dick for doing what he did also, even worse than you. But parking over the line either in front or either side is also inconsiderate.

I agree. It's not ideal. It's not something I normally do. But the lot where I work is small. The spaces are small and the isles are small. If I stick 3 to 4 feet into the isle I will probably get hit during the day. I try to minimize the risk by pulling forward as far as I can.

I had my DCLB in Daytona with me trying to park at a hotel for the week. There were about 12 spaces at the front of the hotel and the rest were in the back. We unloaded the truck and tried to park in the back. As soon as I got back there, I realized that there were only 4 spots in the whole lot that I would be able to successfully get my truck pulled out of if people parked on both sides of me. Thankfully I always found a spot in the front except once and then I backed my truck the whole length of the parking lot to get a space in the back and I wouldn't be trapped.

LOL this post is great the government is stealing our rights away and we bitch at a guy for parking a few inches over the line. I was unaware this line was a barrier and couldnt be crossed. how can one person parking elicit so much anger in people that they feel the need to Hit your truck or sit on this website and bitch at you for "crossing the line" WOW
