Air bag, passenger side

Just noticed today, that when someone sits on the passenger side the air bag shows its off, but then it will come on as you are driving down the road. Most of the time I am by myself, so really never noticed before.

Do I need to get this check out................

 

im not sure about it coming ON if someone or something is sitting there. There is a sensor in the seat, maybe it does just turn on when the belt is clicked or it just turns off the warning after a while.theres a big hole with a lock in it.. use your key to turn it on when someone is in the seat I dunno, I don't ever turn it on when someone is there lol.

 

Don't have the key hole lock.
I did notice today when you first move the "ON" light comes on.

Mine stays on the entire time someone is in the passenger seat. Was it an adult or child in the seat? Test it yourself by sitting different ways in the seat and see if it stays on or goes on and off, I'd say if it goes off with an adult in the seat take it in as a safety issue.
My sister had a car with a sensor in the seat and if you didn't sit exactly right it wouldn't turn on and there was a recall on it to get the sensor repositioned.

I did a test, I sat in the seat. When parked, set belt on, the light is off, when a person puts it in gear the light comes on. And stays on until the engine is shut off. Did it with myself 250 lbs, and a 90 pound female.
