Everybody ready for Spring!

What's spring? I know of only 2 seasons. Winter, winter, winter, and summer. I'm looking forward to summer so I can go mountain biking!

 

Spring? You must be kidding. We're experiencing a winter storm right now and it just changed to freezing rain. We've got about 7 feet of snow fall this winter so far and there's no sign of letting up. Spring is just a memory.

Am I ready for Spring? These pictures taken this afternoon should answer your question. BBQ, grill and car hauler amongst many things barely staying above the snow and gasping for air.

 

We have a Spring down here but it's already passed. It falls between Late Summer and Early Summer.

 

I just came back from "spring skiing" which means we got rained on on the slopes. Now that I have that tradition out of the way I can start working on the sailboat so it'll be ready for a guestimated May 1st launch date.

 

i wish we could get atleast a little bit of a snow like that. looks incredible!! how much snow is that??

 

Thanks. A long time friend of the family was a F-15 pilot and ive been going to airshows since i was little. Hence, im a HUGE fan of military hardware of all shapes and sizes.

7 feet of total snow fall this season. The snow around the grill and BBQ was never cleared so rain and warm days packs it down and more snow and then rain packs it down further. It took me 30 minutes to walk to my truck today. That is a distance of about 300 feet uphill with heavy uncleared snow. Come on over, great time for snowmobiling, getting drunk and go ice fishing but you have to quit the Carolina Alliance and join the Northern Alliance . Membership has its benefits buddy. Its also bear, moose and deer country so soon the bears come out .

 

I am VERY ready for Spring! I can't wait to take my Taco back through some trails and go fishing. I've had my fill of cooler weather 'til next year! Is there anyone else in the Nashville area that's into fishing and Taco's?

 

Noway! thats awesome! I love me some disc golf. i use to play 4 times a week or more but then didnt play too much in college. i just now started playing again. I have me some of them fancy innova discs (you know, the expensive tied dyed ones that are harder to bend or nick on trees and rocks). you gotta start sending me discs, cause the pro series are expensive and i dont wanna have to buy anymore. i hear rock hill has some great courses. dont you guys have a course where they hold hte championship games? i wanted to play it but my buddy told me you had to be real good or you'd be swimming ina pond to get your disc. he said its hard as hell. Next time you come down you gotta bring some discs and we'll hit up timmons park

 

oh shit man....i didnt know you played!!! awesome!! we have winthrop lake, where they play the us championship.....and we have boyd hill and 5 or 6 other small courses. i have been playing the past few weekends, a couple games a day, mostly on saturday and sunday. im about to start going after work too since the time changed. winthrop isnt that bad..i just shot a 59 over there saturday when it was windy as hell(awesome game too)....just be careful of the throws you make near the "lake"....and be careful not to hit some of the hunnies that like to layout!!

which discs do you throw?? i'm kinda partial to my banshee's, a side winder, and the wraith(the one i make it across the lake with)!! when im up that way next time....we will play timmons. you need to head this way too, we can have alotta beers and play winthrop man!! oh yeah....just let me know....i can get you discs @ an awesome price bro!!

 

I'll have to go home and see what i have. i know i use to play with a roc, and loved it. i had a banshee but i couldnt find one in the professional version last time looked so i dont have one of those anymore. i think right now i'm using a valkyri and a thunderbird or firebird for drivers. i'll have to check

 

just let me know man. how do you throw?? i cant throw a disc overhand for shit.....but my side arm(which is how i throw all the time) is killer!!! i get major distance, especially with my pro banshee's, even my dx banshee i can get major distance from. innove has a new plastic out now called"star" plastic......awesome grip and it cuts thru the wind awesomely!!

 

Redneck golf - maybe I should take that sport up...I sure as hell can't afford real golf.

 

you should try it....its fun as hell!! and way better than regular golf....any day of the week!! plus.......you got it....its alot less expensive than reg. golf too!

 

We always called an overhand throw a "hammer throw" and i'm not good at it either. although there have beena few times where it has worked. my throw depends on where the hole is. I throw side arm and regular about equal, neither one is really better than teh other, it just depends on whether i want it to cut left or right. i checked, i have a pro Teebird, a valkyrie and a putter. all my old discs were in the trunk of the beamer when my brother wrecked it so i lost those. so how much can you get the pro series for?

yeah, i agree with tacomaman, its fun as hell and requires much less effort than real golf. plus it is way cheaper and you dont have to pay to play. you just go to your local course and play for free. bring some beer along and its a good day

 

i guess i said it wrong....as i call over hand the normal way to throw(like you would throw a regular frisbee....not a pitch). what i would call a hammer throw.....or thumber.....is a great throw that can get you up and over trees, then when it lands....it'll roll pretty straight, and i have to use that throw at one of the holes at winthrop!!! a turbo putt is pretty awesome too....just takes some getting used to!!

hey couch.....i think i can get you some of the pro discs for around maybe 5 bucks! i'll ask my wife when she gets home to be sure!!
