I've been leaving my trailer hitch on and backing in. They are welcome to get up close to that.

good job TW for keeping this relatively on topic and civil. the breakdown of opinions seems to be pretty much split down the center on this: you're either cool about this parking situation or a dick. the cool kids know it's not appropriate to hit another vehicle regardless of how it's parked. the dicks seem to have a sense of entitlement to park in adjacent spaces or think it's completely out of line for someone to go over the line because of some implied social rule about parking that forbids it. if you are a 'dick' and you can defend your reasoning for being that way please feel free but if you look at your rationale and can't answer 'no' when you ask yourself 'does this make me look like a dick?' then you're not getting it.

I’m sure others have said it. CLEARLY YOU don’t get it. Sometimes ALL the spots are the same size and are all to small. You don’t know where her parks and what the spots or the parking lot is like, so how can you say he is in the wrong?

If i have (i’m sure other have as well) had to park in spots that my bumper and hitch stick out and i have a DCSB(same size as your AC) I can see how if it’s a small spot and he has DBLB a hitch and a avid light bar that he would stick out a few feet! I would rather have a truck over that line 3 or 4” than sticking our 2 or 3 feet past all the other cars and trucks.

edit: if OP park like such an a$$ and you think it’s ok for someone to hit him. That i guess we all better set this truck on fire and blow it up for taking up 4 spots when it could fit in 1 spot. [IMG]

Yeah, i would be pissed if someone parked on my truck. so what if you parked over the line, it doesnt give someone the right to do that. that looks like they probably didnt even realize they did it though. at work i always park away from the mass of idiots. most people dont give a crap about there vehicles.

I agree! Lot of people on here think they are tough guys and that they are so cool because they have a "truck" and it's supposed to get beat to shit and that anyone that cleans or takes care of their truck is a pansy ass. I have no problem using my truck and at the same time taking care of it and trying to keep it dent and scratch free. If something happens and its my fault, oh well. And I don't think the OP is as annoyed at a scratch as he is the fact that someone parked right against his truck, and I don't think it was about trying to find a spot close to the door either.

It is possible that when the person put it in park and turned off the car it did that small roll forward that auto's do. I know for me it would be easy to assume the person knew just because everyday I see so many selfish and ignorant people that would do such a thing and just not care. Too bad...

Edit: and those guys who say he's over the line and he should have left it sticking out are the same guys that would bitch and complain that the bed was sticking out too far and blocking traffic.

The problem with this moron is that they took up 4 spaces to prevent anyone parking near them, but instead docked right next to the cart return. I can't even begin to count the number of times I see someone ghost ride their cart to the return bin from 30 feet away, only to have it veer completely off course and they just let it go.

I would absolutely rather park next to someone and risk a little door ding than be anywhere near that cart collector and risk a foot long scratch down my side.

Yeah a dually is not gonna fit in a regular width spot. Also if it is a 8 foot bed quad cab it will not fit in the length either. Due to this it takes 4 spots in a way but should not be parked in the front of a lot. That is like parking a semi or a school bus across all the front spots pretty much ignorant move.

    .
There are some lots that I simply don't park in. Others my favorite way to park is to find two spots open and pull thru to the second spot (ending like you backed in), hang the hitch and the bed a little over the line to keep my nose from sticking out too far. Plenty of times I have come back to the truck are there will be a compact car parked behind me, he had plenty of space to park in and not even come close to kissing the hitch, everybody gets what they want.

With your attitude towards other people and their property, I'd say that's going to be pretty hard to do.

OP - from the picture you provide it could be assumed that YOU would be 100% at fault and it actually appears that YOU ran into the other car and would be found guilty in small claims court and insurance UNLESS there is video.

Then, to top it off, you claim to be a JA because on a daily basis you purposely get there early so that you can pull a "few inches" into the opposite space. You then claim that you don't normally do this - Horse Shit!!!

Own up to being an ignorant dingle berry and find some place that will not put SOMEONE else on the spot who has to 'try' to make do with even less than adequate parking.

For the love of humanity and Darwin let it go....

i would love to see a law about parking in more than one parking space. Actually its private property so the only one who could enforce it is the person who owns the property.

I meant I dont normally do it in other parking lots. In my work parking lot I have to. All the spaces are to small. There is no way I could be found at fault the moving vehical is the one at fault.
