I went the LLC route instead of a trust for my stamp collection. Same benefits. less hassle. Cost me 110 in SC for the filing fee. Check your state's laws before proceeding.

That's why you need to check your state laws, in SC, it's a one time fee.

LLCs don't submit a schedule A when adding NFA items. That's about the only difference paperwork wise.

It was cheaper for me here, and being able to allow an employee to handle NFA items without a possession issue is nice.

You need to consult your tax professional as to the tax requirements of an LLC in your state as well.

Picked up the last PSA LPK at my local turners today. They went through their stock of 50+ in 2 days:

I love my Tango Down magazines. Are those MK1 or MK2? If they are MK1 and you have problems with them send them to the company, they will exchange them for MK2. I had to do that with about 8 of my MK1 mags due to feeding issues. But 8 mags out of 100 isn't bad.

They're the MK2. After I bought them I had read some old reviews about them saying they didn't feed worth a damn. But it seems they've fixed those issues. I won't get te chance to use them for a couple weeks but I'll report back about how they work.

Lol saw that video a few weeks ago. It's very informative!

LLC have much more upkeep costs, tax costs and it puts your info out there. Trusts are much more discreet and once established cost nothing to maintain. I plan on keeping my trust forever and within 12 years an LLC would have cost me more in upkeep fees than my trust did in attorney fees. Also if you use a good lawyer there are ways around having to submit a schedule A.

So i need some help from the ar gurus... I have a RR ar with the fixed front A2 sight and magpul furniture.

(not my rifle just showing the setup)

My buddy has an AR with a free float YHM quad rail

(again not his actual rifle just showing the free float)

So my question is what is needed to take the free float from my buddies rifle and put a stock forend like this one on?

He's wanting to swap and get rid of the quadrail and asked me to find out... So please help me out guys, he said if i can figure it out he will give me the YHM quad rail for free :D

IMHO way more trouble than it's worth. Easiest bet for your friend is to buy a new barrel assembly, as he will most likely need to remove the barrel anyway to either take off the free float or at the very least before putting the drop in hand guards he will need a new delta ring assembly at the base of the barrel. Depending on what type of gas block is currently installed there may be issues there replacing it go the correct "f" marked front sight base.

http://www.midwestindustriesinc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=category.display&category_ID=422 Check these out... Not terribly expensive.... Easy to install.

Not sure why he would want to get rid of the free float quad rail.
AFAIK a free floated barrel system is more accurate than a standard barrel w/ hand guard.
From the second link.. "It is well known among precision shooters that any inconsistent external pressure on the barrel of a rifle will affect accuracy."

    Regardless, check out these pages:

Thanks. I got on ar15.com after I posted and read some how to's. I also called a local gun smith and they will swap both for 35 bucks an upper so I think I'll be going that route.
