i wasn't too happy about the spot they picked as this used to be a very good area for deer hunting. no, my family is not getting rich off of this either...barely got fair market value. once they decided where they wanted the line, there was no fighting it. this thing comes all the way from Wyoming. they have a ton of gas out there...but no one to sell it to, so they're piping it all the way to the east coast. it's a 42" pipe that will carry 2.2 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day when operational. they are giong to perch on this hill and drill under the Muskingum river to the other side.

Not what I hoped this thread was about. Sorry they thought they had to run it through your land. Sux!......unless y'all needed what coin they did drop on ya. Looks like a mulch highway.

i guess the title is a little misleading.:) the money wasn't too bad...but for what they will make off it...seems like chump change. i'd rather have the trees back. had two tree stands right in that area. nice sturdy treated lumber...they are somewhere in that mulch. killed four or five doe outta them, and a decent buck one year. guess i'll have to build a couple "hooches" now. gonna try to plant all of that in orchard grass/ alfalfa.

no tap. it's going to have 1800-2000psi running through it...they say its too high for a safe tap. we have two oil & gas wells on the property though, one tapped, one not...as of yet.

Big thing near me is that they are drilling gas wells. People leased their land to the gas companies for anywhere 900-2700 an acre. While its being pumped out they get royalties based on a percentage of the product. Most of the people are happy about it but the project isn't full scale yet. I am somewhat nervous of what might happen to the environment once it's operational.

They're doing the same crap here in NY. Just see one long strip of missing trees crossing valleys as far as you can see.

Think I have some buddies working that. Sorry for what they are doing to your land. That used to be my job, very good income. My opperators were making 2k a week, welders almost 4k. No insurance or job security.
If they are like we were the land will be replanted and kept up with the exception of a much smaller right of way. What company is welding this up?
