Brake Issues

Recently my brakes have been acting up. Every now and then when I am depressing the brake pedal I hear a spring-like sound and it feels like my pedal is pushing back up. Help Please!

ABS?

 

Yes the ABS light did come on.

 

Could be ABS acting up...but if you're hearing a spring sound, the only thing that came to mind for me is the spring clips holding your pads in...I don't really know much about brake though...

 

I guess i'll have to find the code and go from there.

 

Just grab a buddy and have him pump your brakes...put your head next to each wheel and see if you can pin point the sound. Will save you from a mechanic charging you for the unicorn in your exhaust.

 

The sound itself is coming from down near the brake pedal not on the actual brakes themselves.

 

Oh...have you poked your head up under the console, pretty sure there's a spring on the pedal to keep it popped back...might be binding a little or something

 

If the ABS light came on i would suggest pulling the code if there is one and go from there.

When is the last time you have checked your brake pads? Brake fluid?

If the pedal is pushing back that means the ABS is engaging. So something is up with the brakes so pull a wheel and check them out.

 

Just replaced the brake pads a little over a month ago.

 

Maybe you are not used to the newer brakes? Maybe you are braking too hard and it is engaging the ABS?

Did you get the rotors ground?
