Haha, I guess its not much when compared to Canada. Probably should have included a little more info. Had my taco for a week and it was my first time driving in snow with a taco. Was excited and a little hesitant due to reading some of the accounts on here. That pic was when it began to snow, we got about 2" that night. Was driving around for 2 hours running errands at around 30-50mph. No slippage whatsoever. I guess it helps living and driving in New England for most of my life.

Had a storm 2 weeks ago in Boston that brought 26" of snow to my neighborhood. Again no problems driving around in the taco, just gotta be a little more careful thats all. Got to try out the 4x4 that weekend too. It was fun until i filled up and got 11mpg. Oh well thats life with a truck, still love my new taco.

Funny story with that big storm. A older guy with 2 of his friends got stuck on my street in his car and i couldn't get past him cause its a one way street. Well he was spinning his tires for 20 mins with his friends standing on the side before he asked me if i could push him out with my truck. Gave him the "are you f**king crazy" look as my taco was less than a month old. Thought he was new to the area so i decided to help him out. Told him i will help his friends push his car out. Did it in less than 2 minutes. As we were saying our goodbyes, one of his friends said that he's only been living here for 45 years.

    What he said......

The AT20's on my old 2010 weren't worth much in the snow - if I stopped in my driveway, I had to put it in 4wd just to go again. Hopefully the Dualers on my 2012 Sport will be a little better.....

I bought dedicated snow tires for my wife's CRV for the same reason. When I replaced the factory crap tires for her, the dedicated snows almost became redundant - they were that much better.

I just hate buying new tires for a brand new car, but it almost seems necessary if you live anywhere near snow......

I mistakenly thought the rugged trails were ok.....they were trash after 32000 miles..I replaced them today with Cooper Discoverer H/T...$632.00 for 4 tires mounted and balanced after taxes..

I bought chains, I decided early I'm gonna wear these Dunlops out and put the chains on if needed. And the chains are needed, could barely get into the garage about 8 inches ago.

AT20's were the worst tire I have ever owned (I'm 42 so that's quite a few). Horrible wet traction, especially in a truck with a light rear. Forget snow, you'd be better off walking. Completely dry roads, sure, they're safe, but so are wheelbarrow tires. I got them off by 8K miles and never looked back.

Not bad so far, but we've not had really bad weather to test them.

Mine handled fine on the highway, but they are soft. I ran mine for 10k and replaced them. Figure i may put studs on them and use them as winter tires.

What part of CO are you in? I'm in Denver and we just got dumped on and I was pretty surprised at how well the "Rugged Fails" did with how much flack they get on here. Granted, I only have about 1k miles on them.

Wait til next winter. I bought my truck new in the winter also and the Dunlops did great for that winter. By the next winter, they were so-so at best and I wouldn't take them past that. I got rid of them at 30k miles the following summer.

Thanks for the heads up. My tax refund should be here any week now. Hmm, decisions, decisions. Damn, new wheels and tires are so tempting.

Only one thing comes to mind when I think of my OEM Rugged Trail tires...mouse fecal. Can't wait till I can afford to mount some real A/T tires.

I noticed a few people had mentioned the Wrangler SilentArmor's. Anyone else try these? Live in Western MA so deal with snow, off road is mostly sand/beach. Traction is more important to me than tread wear.
