I looked outside and I could see someone between my drivers side door and the bushes. He saw me looking out from my bay window and took off.

Not sure what he was planning. Perhaps he was just after contents.... Truck had nothing of value.

Now I am worried that perhaps he was after the truck. I will be putting brighter outside bulbs in the lamps tomorrow night.

Any suggestions for protecting the truck. Should I get a steering wheel lock.

Steering wheel lock takes an extra 30 sec to cut through with a hacksaw.

    Maybe he wants your headrests?

    there's thieves in Canada?

Yeah more lights might help, but if he wants in he's getting in. Maybe report suspicious behavior to the police?

Evidently so. Fewer violent crimes, but thefts, break-ins and white-collar crimes like fraud are just as prevalent if not more so.

So you can exact Islamic justice and cut the thief's hands off? :p

I never worried about someone stealing my Audi. It was basically impossible due to the immobilizer and the only way to program a key is at the Audi dealer, with the dealer connected directly to Audi corporate. So without that, you have to tow the car away.

I dont know about with a Tacoma if say there is a way to look up someones VIN and figure out their immobilier chip info, or say show up and just do it with a laptop right there as you try to steal it? dunno.

also audi’s have a til alarm in them. if the car tilts so much after it’s parking it goes off. so even towing it is a PITA!

at least i know my brothers ’03 A4 had that. because he had to call dealer and find out how to turn it off so it could be towed one time.
