What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Oh didn't know that, so what's the best way to get 3/16th plate or at least something in similar thickness?

 

pulled out the axle housing and ground it down, painted it black, threw in the lsd, dakars, daystar shackles, and wheelers brakline. Now my shocks don't have enough travel and i need wheel bearings

 

what lsd did you go with?

 

Recently replaced my turn lights, headlights, guages to kmp, blue LED lights. Also, just recieved in the mail my Devil Horns from Andres. Ordered a Relentless Fab 96-04 Tacoma front plate bumper, found a place near by to get the bumper and my rims powder coated black. My phone and computer dont agree with pictures, not able to keep them rotated properly.

Not sure, I just used duplicolor black enamel and then duplicolor clear coat. I want like 80 for the grille maybe be talked down a little because the inside of it where I had to do bondo isn't close to perfect but it's not bad. and I don't know about shipping

 

First I would go to your local steel shop and ask if they have any cheap 3/16" drop. They should know what that means... If they do, make sure you measure it to verify you can get some pieces out of it. Also check their prices on pieces of 3/16". eBay has some 30"x48" pieces at the best price I've seen after shipping. About $125 I think. The dude even claims he will laser cut it for you so if you don't have a place lined up, maybe he could cut all the parts.

The top of my bumper is 62" long so that's the only part I'm going to struggle with. I don't really want a butt welded seam.

 

Hey guys gettin readyto change front and rear brakes soon... Anyone have any advice on types or brands that are really good or to def not get? I mainly do blacktop and gravel driving but do get to treat the truck to some water and mud occasionally. This is my every day driver. Thanks yall

 

My advice would be forget the rears unless you know they're bad. There's people here that have 250k without replacing the rears. Maybe you're at that point though.

Anyone know why my brakes would be very sticky and squeaky after changing pads and rotors about 1,000 miles ago? They stop just fine but are very sticky and squeak a lot. I put grease on the back side of the pads where the pistons touch but I don't know what else it could be. They're centric premium rotors and hawk pads FWIW.

 

did you grease the pins the pads ride on?

 

probly cuz they are aftermarket... pads are designed to move inside the calipers by way of the shims.... no shims=squeaks
