Ain't that the truth! Although I met my wife when she was 41 and there was a lot less bullshit than the younger ones I've dated

Well, I'm working under (no, not literally:D ) a female mate on a Bering Sea trawler...

First time I've worked with a woman. Eating, living and working on a 115 foot boat for 3 months at a time in the Bering Sea.

There's little, if any sexual attraction (she's old enough to be my mother) - so that's not a factor. We get along great, and have bullshitted about everything from one-night stands to navigating at sea..

She knows her stuff, and I respect her completely. Although, similar to a few other people in here - I feel like a lot of her decisions/requests are largely emotionally-based.. She's prone to have a short temper, and is known as both judge and jury; which can be frustrating. A lot of times I feel like she is being overly defensive/assertive because she's a women in a male-dominated world.

It's not worth arguing or suggesting an alternative plan. It's fruitless.

She's a good wingman at the bars, though.

Understanding them means acknowledging that there is no understanding them.

I work in a male dominated career also and in order to 'get there' - you have to prove yourself, be very assertive, and be strong willed or else .... the boys walk all over you. I have men older than me working on the same equipment and they can't even use a drill and drill a hole in steal but they still think (and act) like they're better than you (women).

Most of the time I have to treat them with kid gloves. Give them 'time' to figure shit out on their own (production numbers suffer tremendously) so their pride stays intact. Drives me crazy!!!! That's where the 'emotional' comes in!!

Don't understand 'em at all, not even my own sisters and mother. :D I just know that most girls these days (not all) bring lots of drama to the table.

Well if the nice guys weren't such wimps and weren't afraid to speak up and tell us girls that they don't want to be in the friend zone and tell us how they really feel about us then there wouldn't be a problem! :p

My mom and grandma are the best women in the world to me. I fully understand both of them and they are both extremely dependable. Now when it comes to girls my age I'm completely lost.

I can't speak for all guys, but I don't like dating anyone until I get to know them first through friendship.
