    Too many to list
I never even thought about becoming a welder/fabricator, but I got offered a job less then 5min from my house with some friends, and I been working there for a little over 3yrs now. I can say, that now I know how to use pretty much any machine in a welding shop, I love it. You can do so many things you never even thought of until you have the knowledge on how things work, then you will end up looking at things different and will wanna make it instead of buy it, haha.

But if you have the chance to learn, go for it. Welding isnt about making good looking beads, try finding a local welding shop and ask for some scrap metal, weld things up and then break them, it will help you understand how different things penetrate. Because you can have the prettiest weld in the world but it might be not hold a damn thing.

    Anyway good luck!
